http://www.karenscolorfulcreations.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
An ongoing tale of my stitching obsession. Tuesday, April 28, 2015. Last weekend was one busy weekend! We decided to go to for a day trip which coincidentally happened to be where my LNS is. so, of course I stopped in. I picked out a counted canvas pattern called Tiptoe Through the Tulips and all of the stuff I needed for it. I love doing these needlepoint designs, but my oh my the supplies for them add up quickly. As you can see, I was so happy to get this that I started it as soon as I got home. It's b...

Karen's Colourful Creations: Catch up
http://www.karenscolorfulcreations.com/2015/04/catch-up.html
An ongoing tale of my stitching obsession. Thursday, April 23, 2015. It's been awhile, I know. I have been severely neglecting my blog and for the most part stitching in general. Recently, I picked up a small little ornament that I was working on before Christmas and I enjoyed placing the simple Xs on this simple little design and it's all sort of snowballed since then. I've finished this cute little Prairie Schooler design a couple of weeks ago. Just Cross Stitch Christmas Issue 2010. The leaves are act...

An ongoing tale of my stitching obsession. Thursday, August 27, 2015. A little of this . and a little of that. This summer is just flying by. It's hard to believe it's August already and it seems too soon for leaves to be changing colour, but I found some this morning! The weather this past week has been absolutely dreadfully hot hot hot. Blue Jay in the bird bath re-purposed as a bird feeder. Squirrelly - I think I have a dozen of these little guys running around. I've also worked on Summer Tree of Stit...

Karen's Colourful Creations: June 2015
http://www.karenscolorfulcreations.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
An ongoing tale of my stitching obsession. Monday, June 29, 2015. Finally - a finish! Yup, that's right. I managed to stick with something long enough to finish it off! The design that kept me going long into the night was Quaker Gardens by Blackbird Designs. I was determined to finish it last night before going to bed. Well, Quaker Garden's time to shine finally came around and I enjoyed stitching every little bit of it. Recommended threads and fabric. Til next time,. Links to this post. On the Dry Side.

Karen's Colourful Creations: A semi-finish
http://www.karenscolorfulcreations.com/2014/10/a-semi-finish.html
An ongoing tale of my stitching obsession. Tuesday, October 21, 2014. After about a year and a half the stocking is just about done! I can't wait to finish this one for good. I actually forgot that my daughter's name still needs to be stitched until I took it off of the scroll rods. Hopefully that won't take too long. Aside from that, there's "just" the backstitching. I'm always amazed at how much the backstitching makes a stitched piece pop. Wed Oct 22, 05:20:00 am 2014. Wed Oct 22, 06:51:00 am 2014.

Thursday, April 16, 2015. To arrange food in an appealing manner and post pictures is called food porn, therefore by extension what follows can only be described as fabric porn! I have Cassiopeia all kitted (whom I have referred to as my "spirit stitch! I had originally started Persephone on a reddish fabric, but after seeing the mother's WIP bought the matching fabric! Here is the 1/2 yard (yes 1/2 a yard! Required for Garden Verses! Thursday, April 9, 2015. Why stop at one weenie when you can have two?

Tuesday, May 12, 2015. I am no longer under "Undine" by Mirabilia! Stitched on 32ct ODL Carnival. I felt like the beading went on and on, especially since I could not decide on whether to keep the bugle beads or substitute Kreinik. In the end I decided (with help from the Crone and her envious stash) to throw out both ideas and substitute star shaped beads instead! After placing the first few, I could see how they would tie the entire project together! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Our Friends' HAED SAL.

Saturday, July 4, 2015. The Mother has inspired me to try my hand at dying fabric, and I could not be more excited with the results! Having no luck finding a yellow fabric for my next project, I decided this would be my first experiment. I wanted the fabric to look more like apple cider, so experiment number 2. Who knew I even remembered how to work this thing! And finally, the finished pieces! Stitched on 32ct ODL "Cider" by MMC Designs (also known as The Maiden! The Maiden . Moon and Spider Apple Cider.

Thursday, July 24, 2014. I have been stitching away, but as I am working on a gift I cannot post my progress. I can tell you I am beading my largest project to date and will hopefully share by the end of August. In the meantime, I picked up Masquerade by Ink Circles! I was at a loss for what to start and the Crone suggested a Halloween theme (I usually stitch them in the Summer, odd I know! It was just the ticket to restart my mojo, and I have even been asked to display it for sale at a local Tattoo shop!
