Is the name lead vocalist and guitarist Kieran Glasgow. Thought best described the band when it formed in early 2013. Firstly, ‘Glasgow’ for obvious reasons reflected Kieran and his previous musical history as an artist and ‘Steel’ because the bands sound largely featured the often-underrated steel guitar; a Jim Dyson Australian made eight-string lapsteel guitar. To be exact. Not to be confused with the Dobro style ‘resonator guitar’. And blending blues, folk and soul music. And Ricki Willis (drums).

A singer, guitarist and harmonica player with a passionate and gentle spirit, Kieran’s music is a mature fusion of soul, blues, folk and country. Raised in the tough but beautiful Hunter Valley. I also met a local entrepreneur/musician and surfer called Rob from Gracetown and jammed the night away which was fantastic as I never get to do that and shared an excellent connection with. We relaxed a little and went out for breakfast over the couple of days we were there. It’s an old school resort and I’m glad they haven’t over developed this place because it really wouldn’t be able to handle masses of people like the Great Barrier Reef (not that it’s been able to either ).
