I was born August 12, 2006, about 12 weeks early, weighing 1 lb 8 oz. I was hospitalized for 514 days, 6 months in NICU and 11 months in PICU, and I finally got to go home for the first time on January 7th, 2008. I've been working really hard to grow my lungs bigger and stronger so I can eventually get off my ventilator and do all the things other kids do. I'm pretty tough but my smile will charm you.

Kiera Rose: Micropreemie at Large. Wednesday, July 13, 2011. Bronch done, now waiting for Airway Appointment. So, Kiera's bronchoscopy wasn't as nice as it could have been. Plus, Kiera, is pretty ticked off about the whole thing so trach changes have become a bit more adventurous. She has a granuloma in her airway above the trach that needs to be surgically removed before with can look at decanulation. It looks like the ENT doc may not be able to get her in till late August! Then when the nurse turned her back, Kiera stood up, turned off the light, and then sat down again.like she was trying to cover up the evidence of her indiscretion. Tuesday, July 13, 2010. I understand that these are the ups and downs of having short gut but having never dealt with a weight loss issue I am at a real loss. Friday, May 28, 2010. So it's starting to look more and more like we won't be having surgery this year. I am glad that we have an x-ray that shows that her lungs just aren't ready to handle the massive amounts of fluid that will be required for the surgery. Her pulmonologists. So off to Oley. Now that surgery is off the table we are looking forward to enjoying the summer with the kids. I just hope it's not too hot this summer so we can spend some time outdoors without risking dehydration. Friday, April 16, 2010. Juliana continues to move closer and closer towards walking. We have gotten her to wear her backpack during the day now. She can do everything in it but roll which she hasn't been doing too much of anyway. She is crawling and can pull her self to stand almost anywhere. She cruises the furniture and walks around the crib with ease. I am so amazed at the progress she is making. I had to throw in a pic of Juliana's big brother Omar playing in the sand table. Wednesday, 7 January 2015. I'd almost forgotten how much I love wigs. When Divaswigs.com. Asked if I would like to review one of theirs, I couldn't resist. The wig that DivasWigs sent me is sy084, a synthetic, lace front, 24" long. It feels thick and beautiful to the touch, and after trimming to fit the lace front looks amazing. This is my first lace front wig, and I'm eager to try more! I adore this wig! And I'll be adding a few more to my collection soon as I'm planning some videos where I'll need them!
