Kyler and Jeanette: Cay-no Park

About us, and our exciting lives. As part of our recent trip to Oregon (more posts are forthcoming! We headed up to Mount Saint Helens. Whenever I've gone to the mountain, I've always done things are the south side (ape cave, hiking to the summit, etc). I'm not sure I had ever been to the visitor's centers on the northern side. It was awesome! We started out going to the Visitor's Center. In retrospect, we should have done the hike and then. I would say this place is a must-visit, especially. Was touchab...

About us, and our exciting lives. A Little Bit Blue. This amazing baby girl. was three yesterday! Starting to not be so baby-like any more. Calista's been talking about her birthday ever since Kyler's in May. She tried to say she was three already, so we told her after she blew out a candle on her cake, then. She would be three. When it got closer to her birthday, I asked her what kind of cake she wanted. "A BLUE cake! So, a blue cake it was. What a haul this little girl got. And it did not disappoint.

About us, and our exciting lives. Happy Birthday, Craig-O! Well, my favorite little boy turned one last week. It's amazing how time flies. I feel like he is still my little baby, and then I realize that he's crawling up my stairs and eating cat food. Not quite so little and helpless anymore. So, because it was his birthday, we had to celebrate! Put on your party hat! Obviously, this party had to include presents. Are these for me? Presents are so much fun! Then, it was time to come home and eat cake!

About us, and our exciting lives. Nursery, here we come! Well, folks, Craig has reached the big milestone of 18 months old (and being able to attend nursery at church). So, let's talk about how he has grown since the last update on him. My sister deemed Craig a "mountain goat baby," which is fairly accurate. He is (still) quite the climber. He crawls a little. Less now that he's walking, but the number of times I have caught him on top of the table. Or something. many, many times. Climbing at the park.

About us, and our exciting lives. Calista informed me a little while back that her blanket (crib-sized) was too small for her. Since she is in a twin bed, I figured I'd humor her and so the idea of a new blanket for her was born. Actually, a few days before this conversation, I saw this. Raw-edge rag quilt on facebook. I thought it looked fun but had no real reason to make a quilt. until Calista's told me she was too big for her britches, so to speak. So, project time! A sneak peak at the finished quilt!

About us, and our exciting lives. Day of Rodeo Fun. Since we've moved to Calgary and saw the sign "Home of the Calgary Stampede," I've been thinking we should go. We should experience it, at least once. Calista even knows what it is, because in her ABCs of Canada book, letter C is "for Calgary Stampede, days of rodeo fun." So this year we went. Waiting for the train. Good thing he's strapped in! Little girl who stood in line. Including Calista, obviously. And dressed up as a fire fighter, because we can.

About us, and our exciting lives. Don't eat the baby! So, remember how we got a pass to the dinosaur museum for Christmas. The last weekend in May, we went up for a third time. This one was a little different, though, because it was the first time we've gone when there wasn't snow on the ground! This means it's the first time we got to do anything outside, which in turn means that I need to blog about it. Obviously. She says), and Craig got carried like the baby he is. Come visit us and let's go see dino...

About us, and our exciting lives. I took Calista to ZooLights here in Calgary. We go to the zoo almost every week, and for months now, we've seen them putting more and more lights up in preparation, so I decided to let her see the finished product. It was just her and me. We bundled up: snow pants and long underwear, winter boots and scarves, the whole nine yards. He wants to come to the zoo with us. He's nice.". And so was I, mostly to watch Calista looking at the lights. He didn't ask her want she want...

About us, and our exciting lives. Feeling lonely this Valentine's Day? Well, no more! There are a couple of Valentines heading your way! One with a dinosaur on it, obviously. We made some Valentine's paintings (using sponges cut into heart shapes). Calista was too busy painting to pose for me (she painted three sheets), but Craig was hamming it up. Yes, Momma, that is. Paint on my nose. Calista did pose for me with one of her paintings once they were dry, though. And L-O-V-E for everyone.
