Follow the Adventures of Kiki as she travels around Europe. Thursday, 23 April 2015. We left Huizen quite early and headed straight to the MH parking at Baarn. We were keen to arrive early as we knew there were only three spaces. When we arrived, we discovered the parking was owned by, and outside, a campsite. And drove to a free parking place we'd previously recced on the outskirts of Noordwijk. Follow the Adventures of Kiki as she travels around Europe. Saturday, 25 April 2015. We're just about to head back south to Rotterdam to get our ferry to the UK. Before leaving we decided to take one last drive around the bulb fields. Last time we were here we saw daffodils and a few hyacinths, this time round it's tulips as far as the eye can see. Follow the Adventures of Kiki as she travels around Europe. Friday, 17 April 2015. Cycling the Megalith Route. We left Haren after breakfast and headed south to Assen where, having parked in a dedicated MH place and had lunch, we unloaded our bikes and headed out of town in search of the megaliths. Spooky plant holders spotted en-route. The church at Loon. Another stork on a stick. The first megalith we came across near Anloo is less well preserved. The second pile of stones is better preserved.

Follow the Adventures of Kiki as she travels around Europe. Thursday, 16 April 2015. On our way back to Kiki we spotted this unusual (and surprisingly common) net rubbish bin for cyclists. Quite a good idea as you wouldn't want to slow down at all! Later we went for a walk around Paterswoldsemeer lake - these boathouses looked useful for all the rain that falls in the NL. A very shiny lighthouse which seems rather a long way inland to be effective. Perhaps, at one time, it was by the sea? Sign of the Day.
