Wearing Many Hats- A blog about being a writer, a mother, a teacher and an expat in Dubai. Sunday, February 1, 2009. I’ve done it. Well, no, I haven’t finished my manuscript, but I’ve made a discovery. It may not be anything new to many of you—but for me it ‘s big. I have made peace with the idea of plot. Plot is the driving force behind a novel. Otherwise it’s a series of vignettes with nothing tying them together. Something has to tie the threads of her West Bank experience together. And it has to ...

Book 23: Perfect Chemistry ~ The Oubliette
http://dawnmdalton.blogspot.com/2014/08/book-23-perfect-chemistry.html
Tuesday, August 19, 2014. Book 23: Perfect Chemistry. Posted by Dawn Dalton on 1:37 PM. I love the description of this book on Simone Elkeles' website: A modern tale of star-crossed lovers with a fresh urban twist. Takes readers to both sides of the tracks in a passionate love story about looking beneath the surface. As a fan of stories like The Outsiders. While the concept of "insta-love" can be prevalent in contemporary YA romance, Perfect Chemistry. A Simple Love of Reading. Jackie Morse Kessler Blog.

Books 25 & 26 — Gone Girl & Black Ice ~ The Oubliette
http://dawnmdalton.blogspot.com/2014/10/books-25-26-gone-girl-black-ice.html
Thursday, October 16, 2014. Books 25 and 26 — Gone Girl and Black Ice. Posted by Dawn Dalton on 6:15 AM. Up until recently, Gone Girl. Was the book I recommended most—without ever having read a single page. I admit, I got caught up in the hype, trusting reviewers and word-of-mouth buzz to steer my book gift purchases. In fairness, everyone I'd gifted the book enjoyed it. I did, too. But perhaps not in the way I expected. Gone Girl. In the end, I liked Gone Girl. I loved Becca Fitzpatrick's Hush, Hush.

Book 18: Killer Instinct by S.E. Green ~ The Oubliette
http://dawnmdalton.blogspot.com/2014/06/book-18-killer-instinct-by-se-green.html
Friday, June 13, 2014. Book 18: Killer Instinct by S.E. Green. Posted by Dawn Dalton on 2:19 PM. I admit, I read the first two chapters of Killer Instinct. With Dexter's voice in my head. If you haven't watched the show DEXTER, Dexter is a blood splatter specialist — and a serial killer who murders.serial killers. Take out the "murder" part, and you have the loose premise behind Green's Killer Instinct —. There's no question this book is dark. Dawn Dalton is the brainy yet sassy author of (mostly) creepy...
