Friday, March 28, 2014. Last week in 1st Class we started learning about the European Union. We'll be spending the next few weeks learning lots of new information about the EU. Here are our very own European Union passports! Wednesday, March 26, 2014. Science- Sinking and Floating. Recently, 1st Class tested a number of objects to see if they would sink or float when they were placed in water. We all made predictions before we tested each item, and we gathered some very interesting results!

Tuesday, April 8, 2014. Wednesday, April 2, 2014. THE OCTOPUS By Katelyn M. Tuesday, April 1, 2014. At our Christmas play all the classes put on a lovely show. It was really fun. We did the true story of the three little pigs. It was about a wolf trying to get sugar for his Granny's birthday cake. We sang walking in a winter wonder land. We read a nice poem. Finally we sang we wish you a merry Christmas. The End! This is an example of what a whooper swan looks like. It and it rocked back and forth on it.

Saturday, June 21, 2014. Look how our garden has grown! Today we visited our vegetable garden and sampled some of our produce. Nine pupils out of our class ate scallions for the first time and thought they were delicious! Thursday, June 5, 2014. We used mirrors to demonstrate mirror symmetry in maths. Saturday, April 26, 2014. On Friday 11th April we planted the vegetable school garden. In turn planted peas, onions, cauliflower, cabbage, beetroot and lettuce. Monday, March 24, 2014. Welcome to our Class Blog! Welcome to our class blog. We will try to update you on what we do in school. We love updating the blog! Friday, June 12, 2015. We learned all about chromosomes! Then we made pairs of chromosomes and followed the instructions to give our Baby Sponge Monsters their individual traits. We have pairs of DNA chromosomes -one from your mother and one from your father! Humans have 46 chromosomes (23 pairs). Sponge Monster chromosomes Sponge Monster 10 (5 pairs). Tuesday, May 12, 2015.

Monday, April 25, 2016. We made our Confirmation on Wednesday the 13. Of April in Clarinbridge church. Bishop Drennan confirmed us on the day. We are very thankful to Ms. O’ Callaghan for preparing us for our Confirmation. We are also thankful to Mrs. Gohery for leading the 5. Class choir, who were excellent on the day. After the ceremony we took loads of photographs with our families and friends. Everyone went different places to celebrate. It was a great day for all. By Caoimhe Kennedy and Luke Clarke.

Monday, January 24, 2011. 1st Class have been studying the painter Jackson Pollock. Jackson Pollock was an American Painter, born in 1912, who became famous for his enormous drip paintings. One of the ways he painted was to fill a leaky bucket with paint and spill the paint on the canvas. He died in 1956 at the age of 44. Here are some of our paintings, that we painted in 1st class!
