Mommyhood Craft Corner: Cross-stitch for Young Children
http://kimberlyfarmermommyhood.blogspot.com/2013/03/cross-stitch-for-young-children.html
March 2, 2013. Cross-stitch for Young Children. Ava has been learning about Colonial times, and in one of her favorite books, Mary Geddy's Day, A Colonial Girl in Williamsburg. Ava saw Mary Geddy working on her stitches. It was the perfect opportunity to teach her, and I jumped right on it. She did a terrific job! I found the materials at Hobby Lobby. I am assuming that you already know how to cross-stitch, so I'm just suggesting some kid-friendly materials (Ava is five years old). Ava wants a piñataA...
Mommyhood Craft Corner: God Made Me Special
http://kimberlyfarmermommyhood.blogspot.com/2010/06/god-made-me-special.html
June 29, 2010. God Made Me Special. You [God] made me.with Your own hands." -Psalm 119:73. All this week, Ava and I are focusing daily on the Biblical truth that God made her special. Today I let her paint a sheet of construction paper, and then she made a handprint. (I find that brushing her hand with paint is much easier than her dipping it in paint.) At random times, I shout out "God made Ava." and she finishes with an energetic "special! I'm so glad that God made me,. God made me, God made me. God Ma...
Mommyhood Craft Corner: Paper Mache Hot Air Balloon Piñata {or decoration}
http://kimberlyfarmermommyhood.blogspot.com/2011/06/paper-mache-hot-air-balloon-pinata-or.html
June 16, 2011. Paper Mache Hot Air Balloon Piñata {or decoration}. Ava wants a piñata for her upcoming, princess-themed, 4th birthday party, so we made a piñata together instead of purchasing one. I was already aware of the idea of making a paper mache piñata from a balloon, but I was struggling with how a balloon shape could be attractive for her "princessy" party. Then I realized that I should. Click on the image to enlarge it. Paper Mache Hot Air Balloon {piñata or decoration}. That was an easy step!
Mommyhood Craft Corner: Original Paintings by Us and for Us
http://kimberlyfarmermommyhood.blogspot.com/2013/04/original-paintings-by-us-and-for-us.html
April 18, 2013. Original Paintings by Us and for Us. We just redecorated Ava and Landon's bedroom, and part of the plan was for them to have their own original artwork on the walls. So, yay for 50% off canvas' at the craft store, 67 cent bottles of paint, 1 inch sponge brushes, and a pencil. These 20x20 pieces of artwork ended up costing us about $10 each and roughly 2 hours each. We are so happy with the results! Want it to look good with their room. Also, if you are wanting to do something more than st...

Kimberly's Expressions: A Sunny Day, Please
http://kimberlyfarmer.blogspot.com/2009/02/sunny-day-please.html
December 28, 2008. A Sunny Day, Please. Last week, I told my mom that all these overcast skies and a child who needs more attention than ever are wearing me down. For one day, I needed a bright sun shining in the sky (all day long, please) and a child who doesn't touch everything and who promptly obeys the command "Come here." Maybe you can relate? February 07, 2009. Good post. I'll try to remember that quote the next time Sofia ignores every instruction that comes out of my mouth. :0). Are You a Fan?
Kimberly's Expressions: The Church Cannot Be Silent
http://kimberlyfarmer.blogspot.com/2012/10/the-church-cannot-be-silent.html
October 12, 2012. The Church Cannot Be Silent. As on former occasions, Colonel George Washington was his own chaplain. Twice a day his little army were called to prayers in the fort, which he himself conducted. On the Sabbath, only works of necessity were performed, and he conducted religious services." A Biography of George Washington, the Patriot President, A Beka Book. So, I won't go there. I realize there are many local churches who do. Government and being involved. And I am so glad! Kimberly's Expressions: God's Way Really Is Best
http://kimberlyfarmer.blogspot.com/2012/08/all-your-sons-will-be-taught-by-lord.html
August 09, 2012. God's Way Really Is Best. All your sons will be taught by the Lord,. And great will be your children's peace." - Isaiah 54:13. Plea of the Heart. My gut wrenches and my heart cries out, "God help me be a light! Help me show the truth! Help me stand up for what is right! Help my life and my voice expose the darkness and destruction and shine your light! Oh, Holy Spirit, move in mighty power! And the Philistine cursed David by his gods. Kimberly's Expressions: Are You a Smudge Stick?
http://kimberlyfarmer.blogspot.com/2011/06/are-you-smudge-stick.html
June 06, 2011. Are You a Smudge Stick? When I draw with charcoal, I use a smudge stick. It is actually properly called a "tortillion", but I have always called it a smudge stick. When rubbed on the charcoal, it smudges the black charcoal onto the paper and creates shades of gray. It can be used to fade harsh lines, and it's great for creating a gradual transition between black and white. To justify anything. I don't. To try to wrap my mind around the why's of everything. I don't. God Has His Reasons.

Kimberly's Expressions: Achieve It
http://kimberlyfarmer.blogspot.com/2006/09/achieve-it.html
September 12, 2006. Last month, my husband made an eagle in golf.He was ecstatic! He danced around throwing clubs in the air, because he was so excited. He achieved something he had never before achieved. In his words, it was the biggest rush he has felt since he hit a homerun in college. When was the last time you achieved something in your spiritual life that you have never before achieved? When was the last time you sought God so fervently that He touched you in an amazing and life-changing way? I AM ...

Kimberly's Expressions: Beauty in Change
http://kimberlyfarmer.blogspot.com/2006/05/beauty-in-change.html
May 24, 2006. Have you ever been walking and noticed something of value in a puddle? Perhaps a shiny quarter peeking from a muddy puddle, for example? Usually we are not willing to stick our hand in the muddy water to get the quarter, are we? In our lives, when we face a change, we just see a muddy puddle that we don’t want to go through, while God sees the shiny reward at the bottom. Think about a current or future change in your own life…how do you feel about it…be honest. One day, when everything surr...

Kimberly's Expressions
March 15, 2013. Where the Nails Were. I would like to share a song with you that I have loved since I first heard it as a teenager. It is called "Where the Nails Were." Below is a video to watch and below that are the lyrics to the song itself. Where the Nails Were. By: Gary Driskell; Marty Hennis. I heard you faintly say. Still, in my heart I feel so guilty. I know the truth is the debt was mine to pay. How could it be right that it happened his way. A fallen and sinful life I was leading. March 08, 2013.

November 1, 2013. For Veteran's Day, we baked cookies, placed them in sealed plastic sandwich bags, and then added our own note/drawing of thanks to constuction paper which we folded over and stapled to the top of the cookie bags. These are a terrific and heart-felt way to thank the vets who attend our church. The same idea can be applied to so many other occasions and needs, as well! Links to this post. September 1, 2013. This is Life
A little over a week into Spring 2018, and I believe we have already used our entire allotment of rain for the year. For winter of 2018 they predicted harsh weather with unseasonably cold temperatures. Being the cynist, I didn’t want to believe it. In the end, it just seems as though our spring is…. Build pictures of my new 36×36 3 stall horse barn! Such a productive week! Like a Rolling Stone. What a busy week, but so thankful for the tolerable weather we’ve had the past few days! Generally, I understan...
