http://stevenstacy1.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Tales from the Hood. The goings-on from our neck of the treeless woods. Saturday, September 14, 2013. After John Williams came out and conducted his never-fail National Anthem, he introduced the evening's narrator, Julie Andrews. The name meant nothing to the kids, but as soon as Ms Andrews came out on stage and was featured in the jumbo-trons scattered throughout the amphitheater, L's eye lit up. Daddy," she said. "She looks an awful lot like Maria from Do-Re-Mi. Kiss a Wookie; kick a droid! Like they w...

Tales from the Hood. The goings-on from our neck of the treeless woods. Saturday, April 19, 2014. Smile When You Say Cheese. Two pounds of Swiss cheese, the better part of a bottle of sauvignon blanc, and bagettes well past their prime, all coupled over a flaming canister of neon-colored jelly - you've got yourself an Alpine adventure! All the more so for Mom and Dad with a generous ramakin of German Kirsch on the side for good measure. (Just to help soften the bread, of course.). Links to this post.

Tales from the Hood. The goings-on from our neck of the treeless woods. Saturday, November 16, 2013. Documenting the Crimes of the Oleander Posse. I took the kids on a walk around the neighborhood this afternoon. As I was walking I realized I had my smart phone with me and started playing around with it. I sent Stacy a few pics from our walk, but that got boring quick, so I tried to make it a little more interesting. I'm fairly convinced, on the other hand, that this rarely ever happens. Year in and year out the Saturday of Patten Pioneer Days is the grand finale and wraps up the week's events. On Saturday there are not one, but two. Generally the hardest part of the day is starting it. Let the festivities begin! Not quite sure what to make of northen Maine culture. Am I the only one who finds this disturbing? The same band as always.

Tales from the Hood. The goings-on from our neck of the treeless woods. Sunday, March 30, 2014. Kings for a Day. Last Saturday Stacy and the kids got the royal treatment. Poppa, whose name, as far a N is concerned, has for some reason now morphed to "Pops", managed to score some Kings tickets fit for a monarchist. These weren't just good seats with adequate oxygen levels - these were front-row seats, right up against the glass, just feet from the goalie! Flat N got in without a ticket! Links to this post.

Tales from the Hood. The goings-on from our neck of the treeless woods. Saturday, September 3, 2011. A Little ME Time - "What's foa Suppah? The gathering of the faithful. Ride like an Egyptian. N about to secure a go-cart high-five. I strongly suspect Smokey is contemplating suicide. Then it was back out on the road for the 1/4 mile walk down the Shin Pond Road to the museum for lunch, or more precisely, for the dinner. This makes him happier than just about anything else in the world. On the Home Front.

Tales from the Hood. The goings-on from our neck of the treeless woods. Sunday, November 23, 2014. Lobster Teriyaki and Other Feats of Culture - Day 4. L bites the dust, and lots of it. I felt a little like I’d been whisked into a James Herriot novel. I love my job! I love my job! I think the one on the right is mad doggin' you! So, kids, ya say ya like steak, so ya? A majestic summer storm sweeps down from Canada. It slid over Patten 5 miles to the north, but we didn't get a drop. They shed the cute fast.

Tales from the Hood. The goings-on from our neck of the treeless woods. Saturday, May 18, 2013. Et Tu, D2? Now she too can look forward to being one of the more popular kids, just like her old man. Links to this post. Sunday, May 12, 2013. I've always wanted to try my hand at a formal portrait. A year or two ago my pastor graciously agreed to sit for a source picture, so I got my big chance. Whatever. When I'm in the Louvre. People with much better photography skills will take care of all of that. :).

I don’t expect to have a run like this again for a long while, so I am committed to appreciate it! N's travel outfit does not promise hours of comfort. Tales from the Hood. The goings-on from our neck of the treeless woods. Thursday, June 27, 2013. A Biblical Mandate for Delayed Gratification. I took the family out to lunch today and while Stacy and L were off in the restroom N and I had a strange, though not atypical, conversation:. N: Daddy, you know how a lot of people eat their favorite thing first? Me: Ummm, I guess. N: Most people do, but I don't. I wait and eat my favorite thing last. You know why? Me: No, why? Me: Oh, OK, well,. good! Was the en...
