Kims Egypt Jordan Trip. Day 17 - December 25, 2009 - Amman Roman Ampitheatre and Citadel / Jerash. We got to sleep in until 8am today and we had pancakes for breakfast (best breakfast on the trip)! It still didn't feel like Christmas morning though. We had less than an hour drive to get to Amman (at one point in history, named Philadelphia, for it's then conquerer, greek Ptolemy II Philadelphus, the Hellenic ruler of Egypt). The King Abdullah Mosque. Outside North Theatre with local kids. Day 12 - Aqaba.

Day 4 – Tuesday, September 27, 2011 - Istanbul and Rhodes, Greece. We woke up, checked out of our rooms, stored our bags, and set up an afternoon cab pickup for the airport before heading out to see the Cistern and Hagia Sophia. I think we all really liked the Basillica Cistern. It doesn’t take that long to go through, but I’ve never seen anything like it. Hagia Sophia was right across the street. We didn’t have to wear a veil or take our shoes off, so I liked it for that alone. Several alleyways- I was ...

Day 5 – Wednesday, September 28, 2011 – Rhodes, Greece. Today we got to sleep in a bit, then Utta, our Viennese host, made us whatever we wanted for breakfast. I had oatmeal with vanilla sugar. It was so good, I’d get it again tomorrow. It was so nice to have something that would fill me up. I had been eating bread off the Turkish breakfast table the past days and it wasn’t doing it for me. Utta made several types of homemade breads every day. We accomplished all but walking the castle walls. If you woul...

Kim's Turkey Trip: Day 8 – Saturday, October 1, 2011 – Saklikent Gorge and Kalkan
http://kimsturkeytrip.blogspot.com/2011/10/day-8-saturday-october-1-2011-saklikent.html
Day 8 – Saturday, October 1, 2011 – Saklikent Gorge and Kalkan. We had breakfast in the glass enclosed restaurant, which had a view of sheep - very serene. Then we headed to Saklikent Gorge. To walk the Gorge, you needed water shoes and good balance. You had to hike through the water the whole way and watch out for deep spots and slippery rocks. It was a beautiful sunny day with lots of shade, but the water was very cold. By half way through, you didn’t notice the cold water anymore. Taken from our seats.
