Captain William Keeling discovered the islands in 1609, but they remained uninhabited until the 19th century. Climate: tropical with high humidity, moderated by the southeast trade winds for about nine months of the year. Coconuts are the sole cash crop. Thursday, March 18, 2010. Yellowstone National Park Vacation. This was written on the way home from Yellowstone National Park vacation. Then we went to see some ice cave, which was pretty lame and basically should just not exist. The tour guide talked funny, so that was about the only thing that sustained me. Then, the next day we made the drive to our main destination: Yellowstone National Park . It was so fun, I know I’m not going to be able to remember all of the cool parts.
