Adventures of Exploration: April 2007
http://adventuresofexploration.blogspot.com/2007_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 17, 2007. A History of Violence. Like the rest of the nation, I was saddened and shocked by shootings at Virginia Tech and joined the all college students and other Americans in prayer for the victims, their families, as well as the gunman. But as I continued to think and reflect on the events that have come to pass, I thought about how our change in worldview may contribute to these new manifestations of disturbing and publicized violence. Saturday, April 14, 2007. Rather than just experi...

Adventures of Exploration: The Faith and the Doubts of the Philosophers
http://adventuresofexploration.blogspot.com/2008/03/faith-and-doubts-of-philosophers.html
Friday, March 21, 2008. The Faith and the Doubts of the Philosophers. Recently I have begun to explore the philosophy of Danish Soren Kierkegaard and the many thoughts on God and religion that he had. Right now I have begun to read his famous work Fear and Trembling. Written in 1843. Kierkegaard wrote on a great variety of different subjects and has been classified as an existentialist, post-modernist, individualist, and mystic all rolled into one, but in Fear and Trembling. The Here and Now. Sunday, October 28, 2007. I was reading my book at work the other day and the author produced this analogy concerning identity. Here's the setting from the infamous movie, the Lion King. You might have heard this before. Anyways, I think it's a good analogy. R: The question is, Who are YOU? S: I thought I knew, but now I am not so sure. R: Well, I know who you are. S: I think you're a little confused. I am not the one who is confused. You don't even know who you are. He lives in you.

Sunday, October 19, 2008. What about the pair of cardinals that visit the bird feeder everyday, or the clump of mushrooms that silently feast on the dead tree in the backyard? Sunday, October 12, 2008. City Kids in the Woods. Sunday, October 05, 2008. It has been quite awhile since I did this! Working up at camp has taken up a lot of my time, but recently my surroundings have gotten my old writing juices flowing, especially since I get to live in such a beautiful place, so here I go. Still Learning, Dad.

The Here and Now. Monday, October 22, 2007. Besides we made sure that the flame wasn't TOO high. It was nice to get away from the city and school and stuff to go into the mountains where you see all the trees changing colors with fiery reds, luscious yellows, and extravagant oranges. It was good to be able to think about everything that's been happening, dealing with all the junk of ODU life. Haven't seen that many stars in a long while; saw a couple shooting ones as well. I even read the Bible! Charlie ...

The Here and Now. Thursday, October 18, 2007. And the immediate response "good" without even thinking what the question nor the answer really means. The pastor on sunday briefly talked about this. That question use to mean something: i care about. Now it is just a tradition, a common courtesy to conduct when you see a stranger. Does the person that asks that really care? Maybe, but 9 times out of ten they don't and it's just a habit. And the answer, good? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Oily Marks Appear on ...

The Here and Now. Friday, November 9, 2007. I just, don't know what to do. This is me right now. Question mark. I just don't know what to do with this, the next step? I'm lost and it hurts a little bit. But there is a higher purpose for all this and something good will come out of it. Just right now it's a big question mark. Life's one big question mark?
