基金會致力 推動閱讀、建築教育 的本業使命，除擔負企業社會責任之外，對於推廣舉辦各類教育活動更是不遺餘力 而 2016世界設計之都 以 Adaptive City 不斷提昇的城市 為核心訴求，強調讓設計融入城市的各個面向，成為分享解決與溝通社會課題的媒介，落實以人為本的設計理念。 綜合上述，結合基金會一直關注的 閱讀教育 以及世界設計之都的 社會設計 兩大核心命題，進而啟發 2016閱讀計畫 微型圖書館公益活動 ，希望藉由設計思維帶來閱讀方式及環境的改變，讓書不只是知識的載體，更可以扮演人與人、人與空間互動的橋樑，透過大台北捷運系統的城市生活串聯，讓社會設計的角度得到更深的擴散，讓書本創造一種科技載具無法傳達的情感，形塑出不一樣的城市閱讀風景。 藉由鼓勵分享與交流，讓書成為人與捷運站間的中介，也成為人與城市生活的中介，發想可供市民參與的互動活動，如市民設計講堂、打卡抽獎活動、社群照片分享、撰寫閱讀心得等，讓 書 與 人 的結合成為城市最美麗的流動地景，亦作為歡慶2016世界設計之都的最佳獻禮。 Https:/ www.facebook.com/kindom.ys/. 眾生的居所 / 李乾朗 / 遠流出版社.
