Warped Spinster: August 2015
http://warpedspinster.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 3, 2015. My Top 5 'Musts" for Quilt Patterns. Where would we be without quilt patterns? We love our quilt patterns, don't we? We won't talk about how small a percentage of the stash this is.). Remember, these are MY preferences; yours may be completely different! Minimizing errors before publication is a much-appreciated step! My sister is my technical editor, bless her. She's a quilter, but she was a computer programmer and systems designer in her professional life, and she's very goo...

Warped Spinster: Mini-Quilt Swap
http://warpedspinster.blogspot.com/2015/05/mini-quilt-swap.html
Thursday, May 7, 2015. Quilt swaps are always a lot of fun, and a good way to connect with other quilters, so I'm pleased to be participating in Cut Up and Quilt's Mini-Swap. I have received info about the quilter for whom I'll be making a quilt, and I'm rarin' to go! The creative pairings are a secret, so I'll try not to give away too much, so she doesn't recognize her preferences, should she or friends happen to read this post. :-). Another design that has been caroming around in my head might figure i...

Warped Spinster: Always Retreat! (Quilt retreat, that is)
http://warpedspinster.blogspot.com/2015/03/always-retreat-quilt-retreat-that-is.html
Saturday, March 7, 2015. Quilt retreat, that is). I'm back to the blog; sorry for the sabbatical. Family priorities were center stage for awhile, and now I'm getting back to updating the blog and website. This weekend I'm retreating with friends, catching up on some projects. We're at Stitchin' Tree Quilts. The story behind Jeanette standing by the sign isn't as interesting as it might be; she's just waiting to flag down a fellow quilter who hasn't been here before. All he truck drivers waved, though.

Warped Spinster: Just the Right Fabric: Top Ten Questions to Ask When Choosing Fabric
http://warpedspinster.blogspot.com/2014/09/just-right-fabric-top-ten-questions-to.html
Friday, September 19, 2014. Just the Right Fabric: Top Ten Questions to Ask When Choosing Fabric. The right fabric can make or break a quilt. Choosing fabric is one of my favorite things to do. Most of the time I actually buy what I choose, but sometimes I just cruise the quilt shop, choosing what I MIGHT use for a given quilt. As a designer, teacher, and former quilt shop employee, I have also been privileged to be able to help others choose fabric for their own quilts. There are exceptions to each of t...

Sunday, December 29, 2013. Sometimes we break rules with a specific intent to come up with something new and different, trying out the "what if? Breaking rules- what fun! I'm all for it. I don't do New Year's resolutions but if I did, I would make one to break some rules in quilting, spinning, weaving, and any other fiber-y activities I undertake. I am enrolled in a many Craftsy. KNEAD...WEAVE...GROW: SPINACH AND PESTO (and a Ballerina)
http://joanne-kneadweavegrow.blogspot.com/2015/05/spinach-and-pesto-and-ballerina.html
Bread, fiber, children, winter, sun, garlic, some of what I love. Thursday, May 28, 2015. SPINACH AND PESTO (and a Ballerina). Elsa had her recital on Saturday, a lovely little ballerina she was! Jonel and Andy grow spinach in a cold frame and it has been prolific, and I, thankfully have been a recipient of much of it. Huge, sweet leaves. Served with linguini, pesto, and grating of cheese. It was so fresh and decidedly delicious. Fresh from the garden lettuce salad. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

KNEAD...WEAVE...GROW: September 2014
http://joanne-kneadweavegrow.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Bread, fiber, children, winter, sun, garlic, some of what I love. Sunday, September 28, 2014. Today, Sunday, is another glorious day. This autumn, at least so far, is absolutely stunning, and the weather has been the best we've had all year. I have just returned from a bike ride where this tree is only one of many. Whose colors are unbelievable. The reports are that Autumn's peak will not be until the 3rd week in October, but that is really hard to believe at this point. Links to this post. Each year I w...
