Moon and Planets: skywatchers
http://skywatchers.livejournal.com/59827.html
Nice sky show this evening. The bigger version is better. :) Clickie the pic. Tomorrow's view should be even better as the moon makes a closer group with the two planets. Go check it out in the evening just after sunset. Post a new comment. We will log you in after post. We will log you in after post. We will log you in after post. We will log you in after post. December 12th Giant Moon: skywatchers
http://skywatchers.livejournal.com/60137.html
December 12th Giant Moon. The full Moon will loom larger in the sky on Friday than it has since 1993, as it will be nearly as close as it ever comes to Earth in its orbit. The Moon does not orbit Earth in a perfect circle. Instead, it follows an elliptical path that brings it 50,000 kilometres closer to our planet on one side of its orbit (called perigee) than the other (apogee). Photo and text from: http:/ www.newscientist.com/article/dn1. The moon was spectacular last night here in southern California!
