Monday and Wednesday Night African Drumming and Dance Classes in 2010. King joins as part of ONE AFRICA’s Drumming and Dance Classes. Focus on basic hand drumming technique and simple djembe rhythms. Focus on more advanced drumming techniques and more complex rhythms including hand and stick technique, sabar, boucarabou and dun dun. Private drumming tuition is also available by negotiation. Ever wanted to learn how to make your own djembe? Do you have a drum at home that needs repairing or tuning? Come and learn the art of drum making with King Marong! Chose from a selection of hand carved wooden drum shells from The Gambia and Guinea, or bring along your own shell. Cost of the drum making workshop depends on the shell you chose, costs start from $300 inclusive of all materials and instruction. Contact us for a description of current stock.
