Intricate stained glass depicting Biblical scenes lined the chapel, and almost everyone’s heads were craned to the ceiling, marveling at the panels of vibrant color. Much of my excitement about this trip had to do with the fact that my three companions had not yet been to Europe. First stop: our local bakery to secure a baguette, and visit the friendly baker who I named Gustave. He was portly and jolly and surrounded by baguettes. Sounds like a good man to me. Back from seeing Gustave the baker. We boarded the train for a 30 minute ride to the town of Versailles. A jolly band of accordianists.
