When we found our destination, The Joiners Arms, it was closed and didn't look like it was going to open (see picture above). See - I got a smile, didn't I?

The Kings Arms in Bideford offers a warm welcome to the town's oldest and most traditional pub - the only remaining 'Inn on the Quay'. The Kings Arms was built in the mid 1500's as a public house and Inn. The building remains unaltered although certain internal partitions have been removed. Many of the wooden beams are the originals from some 500 years ago.

I enjoyed a 4 night stay at the Kings Arms whilst visiting my daughter who is at Uni nearby. My single room was lovely and cosy with a fabulous en-suite shower room. Breakfast was great and nothing too much trouble for the staff. Very convenient for all local rail/bus/underground connections.
