In the Purbeck Hills. Village website registered one-. Part of Dorset OPC. I am attaching two photos:. The first I am fairly sure is my great grandparents, Edwin [George] and Henrietta Hunt. The second I am not so sure about, I believe that this photo is of my mother Muriel Mooney [nee Hunt]. And her classmates possibly taken in Kingston around 1930. My mother I think is on the extreme left with ribbons in her hair second row down. I hope that your contributors may be able to shed some light on this photo.

In the Purbeck Hills. Village website registered one-. Part of Dorset OPC. Kingston has three graveyards:. The first churchyard surrounded the old church. However, when the church building was sold to be converted to a private residence, many of the gravestones were moved, mostly to the second churchyard. Press notices were published about the removal but no relatives responded and so they were moved according to the Bishop’s directions. THE LOSS OF RAF SWORDFISH Mk 1 K5985 ON MARCH 18, 1938. THE crash of Liberator JT985 in June 1945 was not the only fatal aircraft accident on North Hill above Encombe. In May the Church looked beautiful for Travis and Paula’s wedding and also a stunning concert was held in the evening that same day given a combined choir under direction of Tim Crosley. The lovely Church of St James at the top of Kingston Hill will be hosting a new festival this year, one which celebrates ‘ Heavenly Foods’ in the form of a combined Flowers and Craft Festival. At which you will also be able to enjoy live music at various times of the day. The event is open to the public from 10am until 5pm on Saturday, 19 September. And Sunday, 20 September. At 1115am with the Harvest Supper.

Woodcraft - glass - pottery - flowers – bells – music – stonework – spinning – lace and many more. From 10am to 5pm - Tower will also be open. Music from Ninebarrow Duo, Zephyrae Woodwind Trio, on Saturday. Organ and Violin solos and Harmony Rocks Choir on Sunday. Also a Quarter Peal of our 10 lovely bells at 12.30.
