Life is about adventure. Well this week we have hired a car to explore new places and campsites/wildcamping spots that we dare not investigate in the van (remember the stuck incident? Its very strange to use a car and just drive anywhere including the shops! Manta rota right on the beach. Manta Rota, near the boarder, a popular aire. Too commercial for us! The wait will go on! More heavy rain last evening with thunder and lightening too, sends sophie dog into shake mode we even had to turn the tv off at one point as we could nt hear above the rain drumming on the roof. Life is about adventure. DAY 3 NOV 4TH. We awoke to a calm dry day,it stopped about 2am , sophie has woken in an excellent mood, wants to play and wanted a fuss, she even “PERFORMED” . We were ready by day light to travel another 300 or so kilometres to an aire in the Poitou region called Roullet st Estephe. Life is about adventure. Another day closer to leaving the house, iv e sorted the bedding in the van, I don’t know about you but I hate making beds either at home or in the van but had to do it five times in the van to see what bedding fitted and what to leave behind! The rest of the day consisted of making more lists, a spread sheet to keep an eye on spending , and tidying the garden, I emptied 2 large flower pots that had cracked and guess what? After shopping and refuelling we decided to push on to Chateau Dunn, aire Tina and I have nt stayed on before, its in the central region of France a trip of 5 and a half hours with stops but again the van has been battered by high winds and very heavy rain the whole day. We have stayed on the Fort Mahon Plage Aire a couple of times before but only when it was raining, we have always referred to it as the rainy aire. Today the sun is shining and there’s not a cloud in the sky. The aire is behind the car park in front of the sand dunes, very pleasant and a real sun trap but when it rains the parking area does get a bit muddy.

Europe In Our Motorhome. Friday, 8 July 2011. Day 147 Tuesday 05.07.2011. Tunnel Terminal, Calais. We set the alarm for 5.30am it’s just a short drive to the Tunnel Terminal but you do have to go onto the A16. We arrived at the Tunnel Terminal a bit early and managed to change our departure time from 8.50am to 7.49am. We actually drove past the Motorhome parking area at Cite Europe after we had checked in for our train. Since leaving the UK in February we have travelled a total of 5316 miles. Hi Both....

Europe In Our Motorhome. January and February 2011 UK. We spent Christmas and New Year in Cirencester, very cold and lots of snow. We moved to Carnon Downs , Truro, Cornwall hoping for some warmer weather , it never stopped raining for 2 weeks. We moved to Wareham Dorset 24/01/11 spent some time with Lynne's sons who bothlive in Bournemouth. We are now back on the CL in Blunsdon, we have just dropped the car off as we have decided not to take it with us. We leave for the tunnel tomorrow morning.

Wednesday, April 9, 2014. In Loving Memory of my Nan. My Nan passed away last year and I didn't want to miss the opportunity to say goodbye to her. She lived in Victoria so she wasn't nearby but I have so many memories of when she came to live with us when she left my Grandpa. I was only young. She would always sing to me and had some funny ones, including "Oh, I hit him on the head with the frying pan.and if I killed him, he had it com in'". It was hard to see Mum watching Nan be lowered into the ground.
