And, Here.We.Go!: A day in the life...
http://dcpeterson.blogspot.com/2015/06/a-day-in-life.html
And, Here.We.Go! Monday, June 22, 2015. A day in the life. One of the great things about jet lag is being wide awake when nobody else is. One of the great things about being on R&R is that there isn't anything terribly pressing to do. Put those 2 things together and, voila, I have time to write on my blog. Keegan in her natural habitat and Rowen being Rowen. Rowen's music class did rock group performances. Amazing how quickly we adapt to our surroundings. Rowen's award winning pigeon performance. Nurse a...

And, Here.We.Go!: Time flies when you're having fun

And, Here.We.Go! Tuesday, October 14, 2014. Time flies when youre having fun. Chameleon caught at Ebbet's Field, a park for the US Embassy. I imagine him screaming "FREEDOM! Of course there's always the bus, which is only 100-200 CFA to ride but, besides being strongly encouraged not to, there's always the fear of them tipping over or having your wallet go missing. I have to admit it looks like fun! The food markets are amazing. More fresh food than I've ever seen in one place. It doesn't get much freshe...

And, Here.We.Go!: February 2014
http://dcpeterson.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
And, Here.We.Go! Friday, February 28, 2014. And now the fun can really begin! Tuesday was Flag Day and I apologize to everyone that I didn't post sooner. Life was understandably crazy following the ceremony. Only Keegan was able to come with us to the ceremony so there was a mad dash afterward to pick up Rowen and tell her our great news and then rush off to the after party with David's classmates. And the winner is. DAKAR, SENEGAL! Women selling fresh fish (among other things) at one of the local markets.

And, Here.We.Go! Monday, May 19, 2014. Where are YOU from? Where are you from? So with all this in mind we decided to make Nevada our "home". My mom said this makes us Las Vegans or Vegans for short. It was a crazy adventure in which we learned a couple of things. We had our ticket and a seat within 5 minutes and were sitting in front of one of their 37 windows by 8:10am, taking an eye test and getting our pictures taken. We were out of there in under an hour. It was unbelievable :-D. Where are YOU from?

And, Here.We.Go!: April 2014
http://dcpeterson.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
And, Here.We.Go! Saturday, April 19, 2014. Pokes, Prods and Passports. Our journey to Africa is still a couple of months away, but there are so many things. That have to be done before we can leave. But never fear, I have an unbeatable weapon. It is not the first one, and it will certainly not be the last. They have never let me down and always serve me well. I have my. LIST! It's kind of sad how happy this makes me. It's the little things). Did you know that passports come in different C. The most recen...

And, Here.We.Go!: July 2014
http://dcpeterson.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
And, Here.We.Go! Friday, July 11, 2014. Making the most of it. When we arrived in Washington DC (technically Arlington, VA) back in February, we knew we had a limited amount of time to enjoy all that the area had to offer. And we barely scratched the surface. Look at those fresh faces, if they only knew. Good thing I've been wearing skirts and dresses more often, my pants may never fit again 😋. Colin Powell came to FSI to visit! Snow day on St. Paddy's Day, love the green fountain! Our fabulous friend S...

And, Here.We.Go! Monday, March 31, 2014. Keegan in front of the French Embassy. What a fun class! To really understand another culture, I have to understand my own. Now this class was applied to national cultural differences, but every person is part of different cultures and I think these lessons can be applied to everyone. Religious and community cultures define us, as well. As a Mormon, I know we have our own culture, separate from our beliefs. Just ask anyone that lives in Utah! Everything is fascina...

And, Here.We.Go!: It's 2015 and we're still breathing
http://dcpeterson.blogspot.com/2015/01/it-2015-and-we-still-breathing.html
And, Here.We.Go! Tuesday, January 6, 2015. Its 2015 and were still breathing. Indiana Jones and the Sassy Gypsy (still a better story than the Crystal Skull). So while I didn't send out Christmas cards or gifts, I was able to make cookies with my kids and spend time getting to know lots of new friends. I'm counting this as our holiday letter :). A big heaping pile of meringue drizzled with sugar. The French know desserts. Traffic jam, Dakar style. We were able to go on our tour. Shopping here is alwa...
