The first event of this year has already taken place, the Dewsbury 10K road race. The event. Was lucky with the weather and 1010 runners took part, all completed safely. The next event is The Golcar Lily, on the 11th May. It is hoped that we shall be able to have a. Public display of vehicle tracking (the minibuses) with the locations projected on a screen. Kirklees Raynet are happy to provide communications for a wide variety of events. Usually an involvement from. A Cat 2 organisation is required, such as St. John Ambulance, however if you haven’t that involvement then you. Can still talk to us and we may be able to help. We do not offer a service of marshalling or stewardship, you have to provide that. We do ensure that marshals. Are able to communicate with the main organiser and that safety cover is more effective. We are always on the lookout for new members. You don’t have to have a radio license to be a. Member of our group. There is a lot that the non-radio operator can do to help, mainly in logistics. And admin. Not everyone is suitable for Raynet duties, this includes licensed operators, it requires. Certain qualities that not everyone has, it wouldn’t do if we were all the same though!
