October 19, 2008, 10:37 pm. Helloe mye fellowe readere, (just in case you haven’t had your fill e’s by now). After slogging through several cantos of the Faerie Queene, I was so disappointed when our selection ended witha dragon. Seriously? This is the lamest, most boring, stereotypical villain ever! After some really grisly descriptions of Errour and the repulsive characters parading around the House of Pride, I must say that I expected better. After being engulfed by flames of sin and evil, Redcross is...

Certainly, I have the freedom to drive a blue or green or grey car, but what happens when I “want” to egg someones house, drive to school at 110 mph or enslave my neighbor? Is all freedom absolute? In an idealistic world, it would be, but in the here and now, it is most definitely not. A Farewell to Arms: Analysis.

Week 9-ish: Monty Python. October 27, 2008, 11:03 pm. Whether or not Monty Python and the Holy Grail is a stroke of brilliant, comedic genius, one cannot deny that its obvious anachronisms serve as valuable insights into the problems of today’s world. The scenes of its silly, slapstick and satirical humor are, in fact, funny simply because the observer subconsciously registers the ridiculousness of many social ailments. Simultaneously serve as a carefree laugh and a meaningful moral message, but they als...

Let them not go to reap you sorrow wrought. Like you, you shall not make any a child. For it is not you whom they do belong. Let them not have this precious time beguiled. By your unconquered dreams or any wrong. Let’s visit them in the house of tomorrow. And re-glimpse our once lost world pretend. Mindset for future dreams shall we borrow.

January 12, 2009, 2:06 am. Hello there o’ dearest reader,. Oh man. Is there no better way to end the semester than by typing a blog on a Sunday night Monday morning? This class never taught me how. To procrastinate, but it sure did teach me about nearly everything else. I always tried to approach a text with a clean slate, no doubt influenced by the popular saying, don’t judge a book by its cover. Likewise, I now know the importance of the historical context that surrounds a text. I am quite surprised at...

Capote somehow manages o twist that stereotype around and produce secondary characters that help develop the main characters as well as the plot. Although not considered the most prolific character in the novel, Mrs. Ashida was my personal favorite. Seems like I’m always thanking you, Herb. But thanks. Nature vs. Nurture. But they make me feel all grown up and sophisticated inside. So very, very hot. Christine must be hot too. Good. I am not alone. Hannah is cold too. They are not alone. My eye is twitching. I wish it would stop. Please stop twitching eye. I am writing. And writing. And writing. Saying nothing and everything. Diet coke and Mentos.

November 9, 2008, 11:45 pm. Oh dear, here we go again. To begin, I chose this passage not because it made me have some type of literal or life revelation, but because I rather liked how the witches spoke on our high-tech cassette tapes. So. If this selection happens to have any significance, then I consider myself merely lucky. If not, then sit back and watch me pretend like it does. As by the strength of their illusion.
