DIY-EATS: Who the heck is Shak?
http://diy-eats.blogspot.com/p/who-heck-is-shak.html
Who the heck is Shak? I didn't pursue cooking. Or I didn't mean to. Truth is, I don't know how old I was when I cooked my first perfect sunny side up. But if you want a history of how I got to this point, all I can say is that I was very young when I started taking food seriously. I know good food when I have it. My parents were good cooks so that should explain it a little. They let me help kill that chicken in the bathroom. I used to live in a place where there's chicken in the bathroom.

DIY-EATS: July 2010
http://diy-eats.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 20, 2010. Who Do You Cook For? Meet my dining family.). Ask yourself that. Some people, living alone, cook for themselves. Mothers cook for their kids. Some fathers cook for their families, like my dad. Wives cook for their husbands. Some of my female friends cook for their boyfriends. I dont know any of my male friends who cook for their girlfriends. Most of them just buy ready-to-eat food. Some would care so much to prepare. But really, who would want to slave over the hot stove? Today ha...

DIY-EATS: June 2011
http://diy-eats.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, June 25, 2011. How to do the slow-mo walk in your own home. I wish I can make butter from scratch. Of course I can if I want to but I will just put that wish aside for now because I have a better idea. Two words, baby: GARLIC BUTTER. Whenever I go gallivanting in the mall, I make a slow-mo walk outside Sbarro (the pizza place) to smell that famous garlicky smell. I swear, I forget my name. Most of the time, I can't afford their pizza so I opt for their garlic bread. Homemade Garlic Butter Spread.

Saturday, August 28, 2010. What You Can't Have. There are things Im upset about like the sad fact that there arent any onion rings available anywhere near me. And if there are, why does it have to cost as much as a quarter pounder when its just onion? I know LOL Im pretty cheap. Not many people like onion. Wednesday, August 11, 2010. Once a Week Veg. So this guy right? His idea is awesome. If you cant give up bacon, why should you? And weekend veg is kind of impossible too because the weekend is the only...

DIY-EATS: December 2011
http://diy-eats.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 10, 2011. Is it really the 2nd week of December already? It flew just like that, huh. Also, I didn't notice that a month has passed since I started a little lifestyle change. Let's just say I increased my fruit and vegetable intake to 60%, cut my caloric intake in half, and lost some weight. Pretty amazing and awfully hard but it can be done. And if there's someone who's gotta do it, that someone should be me. One post ago, I mentioned that there will be a few changes in here. 1/4 cup ...

DIY-EATS: August 2011
http://diy-eats.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Saturday, August 20, 2011. I haven't been talking about my old non-paying job in a Greek restaurant last year. Not that there's nothing to talk about. In fact, there is a lot. My family had a canteen twice in the past. Working in food production isn't new to me - but the experience I've had in that specialty restaurant is a whole-world kind of different. I confirm those three months of hustling and bustling stepped my game up a notch. 1 cup plain cold Yogurt. 1/2 cup Sour Cream. 1 tablespoon Olive Oil.

DIY-EATS: There are small victories.
http://diy-eats.blogspot.com/2011/12/there-are-small-victories.html
Monday, December 5, 2011. There are small victories. Some people do what they do to be rewarded. Some people do what they do despite reward. Sometimes, I do something I love so much that doing it is a reward in itself. This is why I have this blog. I may not be a prolific foodblogblogwriter. I don't write every week even when I cook everyday. I am super self-conscious with the content that goes into my blog posts. Then I see my stats and find out a decent number of people have reached my blog. At the SM ...

DIY-EATS: November 2010
http://diy-eats.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 11, 2010. I flunked Nippongo. Big deal. . Well, I didn’t really fail because it was that hard to tackle, what happened was, I dropped the subject mid-semester because I got too caught up with last year’s holidays (my sister and her family flew in from Europe and I got ‘busy’). Still, it wasn’t an easy class; we also had to write Japanese. . I remember when I took up Fookien and barely made it. My Lǎoshī. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). SO, WHAT DO YOU THINK? Cebu in the World.

DIY-EATS: November 2011
http://diy-eats.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 14, 2011. Simple Surf and Turf. I knew, at some point, I will have to blog about steaks. I can count how many times I've cooked steak. Thrice. Two of those times I was in the company of a chef so I guess it didn't count. So technically, I've only cooked steak once. I feel so special! For 1 and ½ inch steaks: 7-8 minutes medium, 4-6 minutes medium rare. I prefer mine medium or medium rare, which has got to be the sweetest. Not a lot of people are partial to rare. But let me play mythbuster.
