Prairie Tales: June 2014
http://ericandheathermicheels.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
New country, new adventures. June 29, 2014. Just Me and My Mom. One of Annabel's favorite books is Mercer Meyer's Just Me and My Mom. This month we have plenty of time to practice the scenes! Eric took a work trip to South Africa for 10 days, was home of 4 and then off to California for half a week. It's conference season, but be in-between presentations, he is able to have fun. He was able to meet up with our friends Cameron and Brent and they took in a baseball game and lots of golf. One very rainy Sat...

New country, new adventures. April 20, 2014. Happy, Happy Easter! Happy Easter to all of our friends and family! We hope you are all enjoying a nice dinner together. We will join in our hearts from afar. We have been enjoying our four day (yes! Easter weekend so far. Even though Eric has spent most of Friday and Saturday grading essays I'm sure he now wishes he hadn't assigned, we've been able to do some fun Easter activities. We made homemade play dough. It brought back memories of my parents making...

Prairie Tales: Welcome Hadley Emelia!
http://ericandheathermicheels.blogspot.com/2015/02/welcome-hadley-emelia.html
New country, new adventures. February 19, 2015. We are so thrilled to welcome our new daughter Hadley Emelia into our family! She is so sweet and calm and we look forward to many happy moments with her. She was born Monday January 12, 2012 via scheduled c-section at 4:14pm. She weighted 6lbs 7 oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. Eric and I, and many family members, had once again guessed boy and larger than Annabel (she was 7 lbs, 7 oz), but we were wrong. Check out the umbilical cord. Amazing. Nkle, T i.

Prairie Tales: August 2013
http://ericandheathermicheels.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
New country, new adventures. August 19, 2013. Going to The Lake is a big thing around here. Oftentimes church is near empty in the summer because everyone is at The Lake. This past weekend, we got a chance to go with Eric's co-worker to their family cabin on Emma Lake, which is a little over 2 hours north of Saskatoon. The main beach was packed on such a beautiful day. Eric and Bill went to watch the Rider game. Annabel took a nap and I got to sit on this porch and read a magazine! Links to this post.

Blossom Wherever: We Hold these Truths to be Self Evident
http://blossomwherever.blogspot.com/2011/05/we-hold-these-truths-to-be-self-evident.html
Monday, May 2, 2011. We Hold these Truths to be Self Evident. What a good day to get out of the city! With a car full of Texas Tech interns and a handful of good friends, we pulled out of D.C. yesterday morning, headed south to Monticello. Our friend Matt planned the perfect day: lunch at Mitchie Tavern. Guided tour of the house, and a whole afternoon to explore the grounds. We finished up with dinner at Pig ‘n Steak. By "we" I mean them. This is a view of the outside of Jefferson's observatory, located ...

Blossom Wherever: April 2011

Monday, April 18, 2011. There She Is.Miss America! Two years ago as a full-fledged, income earning, adult I was invited to a Miss America party with other full-fledged, income earning adults. It was impeccably planned and themed by state. Every girl was supposed to choose a state candidate to root for and wear something symbolizing that state. Did I go? You better believe I did! Then, three weeks ago I got a Monday afternoon invitation to have dinner with royalty! Sunday, April 10, 2011. Because every da...

Thursday, July 7, 2011. 6 Weeks, 10 Photos. If I had taken a new full time job and therefore find myself with lots less time to blog, it's also possible that I might have missed six weeks worth of "extremely" newsworthy events. Catch up with a few photos. A sunny day in Washington, DC. The WWII Memorial with Mammy. Dairy free birthday blob for the big boy. How good to have dear friends to celebrate with us. The best view from Mount Vernon:. What a loved little boy! Two birthday parties,.

Monday, July 25, 2011. You know how back home in the south people say we have a good chance of rain on a cloudy day? I was walking to a great little deli/bakery called Firehook. Blossom Wherever: May 2011

Saturday, May 21, 2011. When we moved out here, we knew we were giving up some things we loved. For example, Mexican food that tastes like Mexican food, hanging out with a bunch of crazy college kids on Tuesday nights, and great babysitters. There were other things we didn’t realize we were giving up, like fresh jalapenos at the ready in every grocery store, drive through everything (like cleaners, Starbucks and pharmacies) and sleep.
