Retired Rod: Bucksaw Resort Marina
http://retiredrod.blogspot.com/2015/05/bucksaw-resort-marina.html
Going up Mt Lemmon. Thursday, May 21, 2015. We met at a Quicktrip in the far end of Overland Park, known as Stanley. A patron there stopped me and thanked me for not shooting up the place. Referring to the recent tragedy in Waco. I find that so disturbing, because the public paints all people on motorcycles with the same brush. Enough said. So I left them and headed right back into the city on highway 50. It still took me about an hour to get home, and I have no idea when the rest of the group got ba...

Retired Rod: August 2014
http://retiredrod.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Going up Mt Lemmon. Saturday, August 23, 2014. A car museum (Pictures) in a town up by the Nebraska border. We rode to Wetmore, Kansas. It was 114 miles from my home here in Olathe/Overland Park. This is North of Topeka on the road that goes to Omaha. The cafe wasn't anything really special. I had a small biscuit and gravy with a side of sausage. This is in the wrong order, but this is the city hall with the post office next door. I don't know all of the years, but this is a Cadillac. This was down in th...

Retired Rod: May 2015

Going up Mt Lemmon. Friday, May 29, 2015. Wandering Aimlessly in the Deep Water. Tuesday we had lunch in Polo, Missouri. The restaurant is in the middle of the town and is called the Red Rooster. Its kind of a nondescript building with white siding. But we filled the place as usual. I happened to be front and center in this picture, but it shows the inside of the cafe fairly well too. I found this on one of the Microsoft Forums where unhappy users were taking them to task. Wednesday, May 27, 2015. It wil...

Retired Rod: June 2015

Going up Mt Lemmon. Saturday, June 20, 2015. Motor Cycle gains a Wheel! Does this make my butt look big? Its a long story which started last fall when I bought and began to ride a Can Am front tricycle down in Arizona. And then riding with the Goldwing Road Riders Association, where a lot of the members all have trikes. And one thing leads to another. Anyway, this is a Motor Trike. Conversion made in Troup, Texas. I had it installed at Horizion Trike. That was short lived, as the rain bands swarmed over ...

Retired Rod: June 2014

Going up Mt Lemmon. Sunday, June 29, 2014. It didn't rain all the time. The phone picture is kind of blurry but you get the picture. We were out at the Johnson County Amateur Radio Club's field day. And as I arrived, I brought the rain clouds. The station was secured for that two hour period. But the catered Mexican taco bar arrived promptly at 6 PM. And the radio contacts resumed not long after everyone's tummy's were full. Actually someone was running even during the meal. Wednesday, June 25, 2014.

Retired Rod: September 2014
http://retiredrod.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Going up Mt Lemmon. Sunday, September 28, 2014. I have been missing in action on the blog front around here for the last week or so. I guess I was down in the blogging dumps, as the big motor cycle trip event that will be this years high lite isn't of much interest to my blog readers. See my time in the US Southwest hasn't gone completely to waste. Otherwise its just life as usual her in KC. Pay the bills and mow the yard. Oh, we did go to the lake over last weekend. That trip was mostly to change the oi...

Retired Rod: Fourth of July thoughts
http://retiredrod.blogspot.com/2015/07/fourth-of-july-thoughts.html
Going up Mt Lemmon. Saturday, July 4, 2015. Fourth of July thoughts. Its the fourth of July and the kids are all out on the dock here at Lake Ozark. So I will take advantage of this quiet moment to bang off a blog. Still folks that don't have a vested interest in the lake are complaining that it is just to protect a bunch of rich peoples docks. But they would be the first to sue someone if they got electrocuted. This morning, Saturday, they lifted the ban as the water is back down a couple of feet. T...

Retired Rod: December 2014
http://retiredrod.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Going up Mt Lemmon. Wednesday, December 31, 2014. Carrying On in 2015. Its almost midnight as I start typing this little post. And I have succeeded in staying up until the new year comes in. Usually I can make it to midnight so that isn't unusual. I have whiled away the evening watching you tube videos. On all kinds of topics, but mostly guitar related subjects. Repairs and the like, as well as instruction on playing. I am easily amused. And thanks for stopping by to read my carrying on. LOL. I was ridin...
