Christmas Recipes - Candy Cane Cookies. 1 1/4 c powdered sugar (place 1/4 c in a small bowel). 1 1/2 tsp vanilla. 1 1/3 c white flour. 1 c rolled oats. 3/4 c crushed peppermints (crush candy canes on sheet of wax paper with a rolling pin). Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Mix butter, powdered sugar (icing sugar) until creamy and then add vanilla and mix. Roll into 1" balls and roll into a small bowl of powdered sugar and place a few inches apart on greased baking cookie sheets.

I make this is bulk as it does a large family or a small one for awhile. 22 cups of rolled oats. 6 cups bran flakes (I use the bran flakes in the baking section of the grocery stores). 2 cups sunflower seeds (I also use almonds, peanuts, walnuts, or any nuts or a mix). 1 cup of flax seeds (good fiber and nutrition). 1 cup wheat germ (You can also get this in the baking section of the grocery stores).

At Christmas time I like to make up this quick hot chocolate mix and put it into a small bag or plastic wrap, tie some ribbon on it and place it into a mug for a quick and easy Christmas gift. It's a nice tasty treat on a cold winter's night. I hope you will enjoy this too! Hot Chocolate Mix recipe. 1/3 c dry powdered milk. 1 tsp white sugar. This recipe makes 1 serving but you can double or triple the batch as it's east too.
