BOXWOOD TERRACE: January 2015
http://boxwoodterrace.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
No Flowers, No Problem. In a pinch, when fresh flowers aren't available, I like the look of rustic wooden spoons in a vase for a casual winter supper. Add a few votive candles and you're done. It's one less thing to do and no worry about keeping the flowers fresh. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Enter your email address:. My Favorite Images On. No Flowers, No Problem. Kitchens I Have Loved. BOXWOOD TERRACE: Nancy Fishelson's Former Home
http://boxwoodterrace.blogspot.com/2013/08/nancy-fishelsons-former-home.html
Nancy Fishelson's Former Home. I'm not going to post much commentary. Much better to let the interiors do the talking. I will say that the guest bathroom (see below) is surprisingly one of my favorite rooms. Pretty neat guest bathroom, isn't it? For an even better view of the home, visit Sotheby's. For a panoramic video tour. I promise that it's worth trip. All photos via Sotheby's Realty. August 15, 2013 at 3:46 AM. August 15, 2013 at 2:38 PM. Loi Thai, Tone on Tone. BOXWOOD TERRACE: October 2013
http://boxwoodterrace.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
By New York Interior Designers and Decorators. Beach Glass Interior Designs. A room that includes both antique and contemporary pieces always gets my attention. Add neutral colors, texture and a bit of sparkle and I'm sold. Wishing you a beautiful fall day. Australian designer Susan Sheller's Belgian style home. Photo by Simon Kenny. I only posted this room to show the beauty in simplicity, which in my opinion, is the heart of Belgian style. Keeping It Simple (in Provence, no less). The flat screen telev...

BOXWOOD TERRACE: Catching-Up with Nancy Fishelson
http://boxwoodterrace.blogspot.com/2014/08/catching-up-with-nancy-fishelson.html
Catching-Up with Nancy Fishelson. Nancy Fishelson is an architectural designer whose homes have been featured in Country Living, Connecticut Cottages and Gardens and Architectural Digest. I did a post about Nancy's former Connecticut home last year. And recently spoke with Nancy about what's she currently working on and how she got her start in design. If you're familiar with Nancy, you know that she has a talent for transforming houses into beautiful homes. Before speaking with Nancy, I thought she only...

BOXWOOD TERRACE: Our Bedroom Makeover
http://boxwoodterrace.blogspot.com/2014/11/our-bedroom-makeover.html
Here are the before and after photos of our bedroom. Here's the room with carpeting. It's not as dark as it looks here. It's actually a blend of cream and pale aqua fibers. The aqua is very subtle and soft. The ceiling is painted pale blue and it nicely complements the carpet. Jon liked the carpet too, which surprised me. This is the before photo of the East side of the room. Notice the lovely patch in the wood floor. I have no idea why there would have been a gaping hole in the floor at one time. This p...

BOXWOOD TERRACE: June 2014
http://boxwoodterrace.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
I ♥ New York. Central Park, New York City, June 2014. We were in New York two weeks ago to see "Macbeth" starring Kenneth Branagh at the Park Avenue Armory. I am not a Shakespeare buff (Jon is) and it was the first time I'd seen the play, but I thought it was fantastic. Did you see it? I'd be curious to know your thoughts about it. Wishing you a happy Fourth of July this weekend. Ideas for a summer wedding. Calm, Cool and Collected. Image from House to Home UK. Gee, how boring can I be? But as I said to ...

BOXWOOD TERRACE: March 2014

House Hunting Outside Paris. Actually, I'm not house hunting anywhere right now, but if you dream of owning a home in France, The New York Times. Suggests looking just outside Paris in Neuilly-Sur-Seine where your dollar (or a few million of them) will go a bit farther than it will in Paris. The article presents a feature on a apartment in the area for sale. Unfortunately, there are only a few photos of the apartment. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Enter your email address:. BOXWOOD TERRACE: May 2014
http://boxwoodterrace.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Things have been busy here between our honeymoon in Bermuda, a trip to Seattle to visit friends and work on the house. It's been a fun spring (except for the New England weather) and we've gotten a lot accomplished at the house. We've been painting and I've been redoing the bedroom and choosing new furniture and fabrics for the living room- more about that in future posts. I was completely awed by the color combinations. The sea of color goes on and on.. This tulip reminds me of a peony, with its broad,...

BOXWOOD TERRACE: February 2014
http://boxwoodterrace.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Home Office Before and After. Here is the "before" photo of the above corner of the room. And the opposite wall "after" below. I was concerned that the paint color would be too dark, but the blue-green hue complements the cherry furniture, which was my intent. I don't normally use such dark paint colors, but white walls would have contrasted strongly with the furniture and done nothing to highlight the color of the wood. Above is the "before" photo of the wall against which we placed the desk. If you're ...
