The Book Lady Online. Thursday, September 22, 2011. Our peas are almost done producing as are the tomatoes. We put in lettuce a few weeks ago and that is growing well. I am behind on planting the spinach, kale and beets. I need to do that today. The Book Lady Online. Wednesday, September 21, 2011. A Culinary Journal for Sufferers of Digestive Diseases. Newer posts →. Travel, Curious Peoples, and Whatnot. July 10, 2010. Ponders* Hmmm… my title was rather random, but I shall try to compose this post in a not-so-random way. First things first. You’d probably think I was crazy if I told you that I plan to travel again in 4 days to a place 2,000 miles away, on the SCD, right after my trip to New York. Well, I am. Travelling, that is. I am travelling again. Being crazy is a matter of opinion. Some peopl...

Home Sweet Home(school): Monday Morning Quarterback (thoughts to ponder)
http://homesweethomeschool2.blogspot.com/2014/11/monday-morning-quarterback-thoughts-to.html
Practical tips for home educators. Monday, November 10, 2014. Monday Morning Quarterback (thoughts to ponder). You know what they say about hindsight. (It's 20/20.). Looking back, the signs are so clear. Now They're clear now. When we were in the middle of it, we didn't see it. Or rather, we put another interpretation on it, the interpretation that we had been taught, the interpretation that fitted the community we'd been living in for two decades, the Christian homeschool community. It's a beautiful Mon...

Home Sweet Home(school): November 2014
http://homesweethomeschool2.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Practical tips for home educators. Monday, November 24, 2014. Conversations during coffee "hour". At the old church, there was a young man who consistently sought me out, or at least it seemed that way. He made a point of greeting me cheerfully, asking me how things were going, and engaging in conversation for several minutes. Want to hear something sadly funny? I often wondered why. I mean, he was nice. What did we do to earn this (social) death sentence? How did they win their way in? When we were in t...

8 Feet Tall: The Golden Thunder Dragons
http://8feettall.blogspot.com/2010/09/golden-thunder-dragons.html
The Golden Thunder Dragons. That would be the slogan on the back of the coach's shirt for Clayton's soccer league. Yep, it's official, Clayton's grown up. Because playing soccer equals grown up, of course. He's had lots of fun, and has *almost* made about 5 goals now. We've decided that he is good defender material. But, when he gets alone with the ball, he sure goes for it. Last week, I asked Clayton how many goals he wanted to make at his next game. The ensuing discussion proves that I aim low. Ps- And...

8 Feet Tall: Poor
http://8feettall.blogspot.com/2010/10/poor.html
I've read the beatitudes a few times. Some of them are clear.those who mourn, those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. Then, there are others that aren't so clear. What does being poor in spirit mean? I don't know that I have a perfect definition.but when Kasey played this song for me last night, it had "poor in spirit" all over it. I want to NEED God like this. Come closer, closer to me. Find me broken, find me bleedin'. Cause I need more now than a fairy tale,. A god who lives in a book.
