Homeschool Happenings

Thursday, March 20, 2014. This week, the kids and I were discussing some of the different things that I have documented on my blog, and laughing about all the naughty things they did. We have had some new antics this that I need to document so I can laugh someday. Right now, I am worn out. Two more months of "terrible-twos." If I remember right, the threes are often even more challenging. Oh Dear! Sunday, September 30, 2012. For Music we have been focusing on patriotic songs, and on songs that will help ...

Homeschool Happenings: March 2011

http://www.kitchentablescience.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Sunday, March 13, 2011. One of our "splurges" for this year is a new folding table for our garden. Last year, our garden got a great start, but we used our dining room table to hold it all. We ate at the kitchen counter for 3 months. It has been a good investment. I love getting a head start on spring. We hope to get our springtime outdoor plants started this week. Homeschool Happenings: June 2011

http://www.kitchentablescience.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html

Sunday, June 5, 2011. Seen a baby loose that much weight after birth before. I was so frustrated. Larry was fussy, and tired all the time. He wanted to nurse constantly, but he was also really fighting breastfeeding. Even though I felt like I spent most of my time feeding him, he was still not progressing. I felt like a horrible mom! Homeschool Happenings: First Week of School

http://www.kitchentablescience.blogspot.com/2012/09/first-week-of-school.html

Sunday, September 2, 2012. First Week of School. I thought I would jump on and give a quick update. I feel like my life is now devoted to school, and if anyone happens to call, I usually get down to business, and get off the phone as quickly as possible to finish up all that I have to do right now. No chit chat. Guess who learned to open the flour container? Sometimes. He loves bananas and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and we can no longer use the word cookie in our house. Youre my homeschoolin her...

Homeschool Happenings: January 2011

http://www.kitchentablescience.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html

Monday, January 24, 2011. I got this idea from a friends blog. I planned to take pictures, and share our experience, but our movie night turned out to be so hectic, that I never got around to it. (My friend has some great pictures if you want a visual. :). Tuesday, January 18, 2011. Then hopefully I can get some medicine and the pain can go away. Sunday, January 16, 2011. Just a quick update. They basically told me that I will probably feel like this for the rest of my pregnancy. It hurts, but it is ...

GoodKarma: Summer's Almost Over

http://goodkarma-badkarma.blogspot.com/2012/08/summers-almost-over.html

Monday, August 27, 2012. So I am looking forward to the cool of autumn and the chill of winter. I promise I will not complain about being cold as I trudge up Webb Hill every morning. It will feel good to wear a jacket or sweatshirt. If you look at how time goes by, you could say that I haven't done much this summer. But on the other hand, if you think about how each day is a gift, I have completed a bunch of projects. Half full or half empty. I like to think half full. August 28, 2012 at 6:57 AM.

GoodKarma: Ernest Hemingway

http://goodkarma-badkarma.blogspot.com/2012/09/ernest-hemingway.html

Sunday, September 16, 2012. For our September Book Group,. We read The Sun Also Rises. I actually read it twice to make sure. I understood what was going on in the novel. It is a fairly significant novel,. Although its content is not always admirable. It was published in the 1920's. And is based on aspects of Hemingway's life in Paris,. With the characters based on people he knew. There are several reasons it is significant:. The writing style was new. Historically it chronicles the Lost Generation,.

Wednesday, April 18, 2012. A LIttle Bit Busy. I've read a few books since my last post, but none of them really worth writing about here. I just started re-reading Death Comes For the Archbishop. My one complaint about Death Comes for the Archbishop. Thursday, April 5, 2012. Fun In The Fort. My next door neighbor friends (age 9). Have made use of a little hole in the shrubbery in our yard. We had one of the shrubs died and so, I pulled out the remains. They call it The Fort. We had fun playing. And a sur...

Tuesday, August 20, 2013. I can see from my last post. That it has been. Since I last wrote. In that time a few things have happened. I could try to list them all. Just know that great things happened in my life. And I was glad to be here to enjoy them all! I have sewn a few quilt tops. But have trouble getting them finished. I will get pictures posted to show you. What I've been working on lately. As far as books,. I have read a whole bunch of books. That I probably wasted my time reading.

GoodKarma: June 2012

http://goodkarma-badkarma.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html

Thursday, June 28, 2012. Projects: I need to stay busy or . . . Picture borrowed from Stitches and Sewforth. This is the latest quilt I am trying to do. I learned a few things. When it says to iron on the Pellon on the WRONG side of the fabric,. It doesn't mean to iron it on the RIGHT side of the fabric. Wrong is right in this case. Sharp pointy scissors are the best for tight corners. But aren't so good for big man hands like mine. And the most important:. A quilt won't get made sitting in the cupboard.

Kitchen Table

Monday, December 12, 2011. Stockings all hung in a row. I got this idea from my friend Kathy last year on her blog lucky to live the good life. Super cute homemade stocking idea! I didn't get my craft on as much as she did (aka I bought my stockings last year after Christmas for super cheap) but the kids and their daddy and I had a really fun time deciding what to put on them and then cutting the felt to make cute creations! Roman wanted a rocket (big surprise there). Way to go Hobby Lobby! Tonight this ...

Kitchen Table Science | A Project by Francis Aguisanda

A Project by Francis Aguisanda. And so it begins…. April 23, 2015. April 23, 2015. I love science fiction. As both a Star Wars fan and a scientist, I often find myself daydreaming of what the future holds for both technology and mankind. As we continue to progress as humans, we will inevitably hit numerous ethical speed bumps (or speed mountains) along the way to becoming the most advanced species in the universe. Want to get to Mars? Cure all human disease? The answer is cake, by the way. Naive about ho...

Eating well. Saving dough. Cheap & Tasty. Stretch & Savor. The Bangkok Blush (a color-changing cocktail). On Sep 18, 2013. Bull; No Comments. Blue foods are striking (and rare) all by themselves, but add a little lime juice and this emerald blue elixir will *magically* change into a brilliant purple. I've named my little cocktail the Bangkok Blush. And the flavor? A dangerously drinkable mix of Thai basil, gin and fresh lime juice. On Jul 9, 2013. Bull; No Comments. On Jan 29, 2013.
