Unaccustomed Earth: Self-diagnosis
http://viebordelaise.blogspot.com/2010/08/self-diagnosis.html
Friday, August 20, 2010. Today, shoulders hunched against the chilly San Francisco wind, I looked down at my feet while waiting to cross the street at Mission to my office building waiting on the other side. I was surprised to see that all that melanin acquired in Greece and Turkey has faded to a slight tint, barely noticeable against the lighter stripes imprinted by the shelter of my flip flops. It seems Wanderlust is a chronic condition, and I've got no interest in a cure. View my complete profile.

Unaccustomed Earth: April 2009
http://viebordelaise.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 19, 2009. Blogging on the road. This is going to be quick because I'm using the hostel computer and I don't want to be obnoxious. I'm now in Prague. Tiffany is sleeping upstairs, Alexa, Laura and Emily are out getting Czech beer. I was dead tired a while ago but now wide awake, so here I am - blogging. This was probably totally incoherent but I don't care. Life is wonderful. Labels: Art and architecture. Tuesday, April 14, 2009. Is it still called nostalgia if you haven't even left yet?

Unaccustomed Earth: A Propos
http://viebordelaise.blogspot.com/p/propos.html
This used to be a chronicle of my adventures in Bordeaux, where I studied abroad as a Berkeley undergrad. I'm no longer studying, abroad, an undergrad, or in Berkeley, but I'll be damned if every day isn't still an adventure. Here's my attempt to write the good ones down. The blog got its name from a Jhumpa Lahiri book that got its name from a Nathaniel Hawthorne quotation that pretty much sums up my entire life and how I feel about it. Header image credit goes to. Unaccustomed Earth: In transit
http://viebordelaise.blogspot.com/2010/08/in-transit.html
Tuesday, August 3, 2010. Things thought on my way back to SF from NYC:. It's odd that you can share a 4-hour conversation and an armrest with someone on an airplane and never learn their name. And what are you supposed to say to him or her while disembarking? I was transferring in Denver and he was home. "Welcome home" seems odd; it isn't my home, after all. The Bearwalk van is arguably my favorite thing about Berkeley. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. My friends are awesome.
