http://livingtowork-workingtolive.blogspot.com/2012/04/using-pva-as-resist.html
Living to work - Working to live. Gallery 1 - Textile Pieces. Tuesday, 17 April 2012. Using PVA as a resist. PVA Resist is a technique that I guess is best described as batik without the wax. Again, I found the technique described in Sew Wild, the book Daughter had bought me for my birthday. Of course the flip side to this is that I had to leave the fabric to dry over night! The wax dries almost instantly). Then when it had dried I applied Dy Na Flow paints liberally with a soft brush. On this sample you...

Blue Tree Studio: March 2014

Art quilts by Angela Welch. Sunday, March 30, 2014. Is Tree #5 turning into a UFO? At what point does a work-in-progress become a UFO? I started Tree #5 with great eagerness, but it has been languishing on the design wall lately. To me, a project becomes a UFO when I start to dread it, rather than feeling excited about it. So I'm trying to recapture my excitement for this project! Here's an inspiration photo I took of a sycamore. The Columbus Modern quilt guild. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Kit Lang - Art.

Saturday, December 29, 2012. Converging Corners Bee Block. I’m not much of a fan of log cabin quilts – or at least not of making them, but I like this way of log cabining. I made this (late) Bee block for Muriel. The tutorial for this block is here. On Film in the Fridge’s website (using some of my favorite laurie wisbrun fabric…). But I hope I get to see the finished quilt, too. I think it’s a log cabin that I will like! Hope you have fun (and safe) plans for this next New Year’s weekend. I finished the...

Saturday, March 28, 2015. Greetings from Orange County California! Seahorse Quilts has fulfilled a decades old dream and moved closer to the ocean. The next day we were camped out at my sister’s apartment in California with my niece and now while Tink plays with her new friend (my niece’s guinea pig Bubba), I search for a new job and try hard not to get too distracted by the sunshine. Sew a few for me, d. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Reverie Quilt Top : :. Confessions of a Fabric Addict. Swim, Bike, Quilt!

Just chatting over a coffee and generally catching up, when Rob pointed out that I used arches a lot in my work. And it's true, I do. Here is the latest 'Alzahara reimagined' piece. There are now 3 of these. So he was straight onto Google looking up the Symbolism of Arches. There's a lot to get my teeth into there! Arches a...

Art quilts by Angela Welch. Wednesday, February 11, 2015. A fully fused top! I've completed fusing the top for Tree #7. Next I need to piece together a backing and do the basting. But first, I have to face the mountain of snippets on the studio floor. That's one drawback to this method- the snippets are threatening to take over my apartment! March 5, 2015 at 6:13 PM.
