Tuesday, 23 September 2014. Redheugh Salmon Station and Siccar Point Revisited. A weeks holiday and for most of the week we had nothing but fog, fog and yet more fog, but for one day midweek there was a clear day for a cycle and I fancied going back down to Redheugh Salmon Station and Siccar Point just along the coast in the Scottish Borders, so taking advantage of the fair weather I hit the road and took off. Leaving Innerwick heading east taking the hill roads towards the village of Cockburnspath.

Saturday, 9 August 2014. Introducing Scott To The Area. I recently bought a new bike to add to the armoury of bikes, the Scott 'Scale 760'. So with working shifts, kids on the school holidays and heavy downpours of rain etc etc it was a wee while before I had the chance to get out on it for a blast around the area to introduce the bike to it's new surroundings. Taking the upper level pathway where you are a few feet higher so you can get better views out to sea. Very impressed with Scott so far. Leaving ...

Friday, 31 July 2015. Goobye Grey Sky Hello Blue. This summer I planned a few wild camps, but where's the fun with no sun? Anyway managing to drag myself away from my polytunnel and garden chores I fancied giving the legs and lungs a bit of punishment and head up hill through the Crystal Rigg wind farm into the Lammermuir hills to pick up a geocache and trig point that's been on my radar for a wee while now, so off for the hills I went. A good sign to see was the workmen strimming the pathway down the Sh...

Tuesday, 30 June 2015. Rocky Mountain To Wester Dod. With my new "Rocky Mountain" full suspension bike purchase I was mad keen to get out for a blast, but with my abnormal work shift pattern and family duties I had to wait more or less a whole week before I could get out on it for a spin. Heading off into the hills and just now everything is growing so fast with every shade of green that you can imagine on display. Arriving at Aikengall farm and onto the rough stuff, I stopped to survey the area for cows!

MTB Innerwick Stravaiger: March 2014
http://mtbstravaiger73.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Monday, 24 March 2014. Sunday morning was a nice sunny one, so a wee trip along by the coast and a return trip up the hill roads and trails back home was required, nothing too strenuous today as I'm on night shift tonight and have a few jobs to do in the garden that I've put off for too long, so on with the ride. Crossing the A1 road onto the old Skateraw road towards the beach, passing this field with huge furrows in preparation for planting the tatties. Maybe this 4-5 mile section will be re-named?

MTB Innerwick Stravaiger: December 2014

Wednesday, 31 December 2014. No Bovine's At The Black Loch! The festive holidays have been a real pain for me as yet again I've been more or less laid up with sciatic back pain and have really struggled to do the simple day to day stuff like put on socks! So on Monday morning with a trail battle plan in mind to visit the Black Loch up by the Halls farm I set of on my merry way. A new edition to the ponds edge, this sign informing the residents to respect the nature that lives here. I see it all the t...

Wednesday, 26 August 2015. Two Very Different Days. The weekend past however the wife and kids had a double dose of dancing both Saturday and Sunday, so I was like a dog off the leash having a two day bike fest out on the bike :-). For the Saturday I had planned a trip to the Glentress trail centre at Peebles, one of the 7stanes trail centres and the one closest to me, along with friends Davy and John. Leaving John behind Davy and I took the climb up the fire road to do the red route. The days weather wa...

MTB Innerwick Stravaiger: November 2014

Monday, 24 November 2014. I love making up routes to cycle, enjoying a purpose or mission for my day's cycle which is one of the reasons why I got into geocaching as it gives you a destination to reach for a mission, not only that but it takes you to new and interesting places from historic landmarks, places of historical interest, to lofty elevated hills with great views. So leaving Innerwick to the sound of honking geese up high above I set off on my travels for my mission of the day. A little yellow h...

Thursday, 19 June 2014. Damselflies Up In The Hills, Kittiewakes Down By The Sea. Great weather we are having at the moment here in Scotland's south east coast, a nice change from the wind and rain that we are more familiar with. Taking the scenic route towards the Brunt where the fields and hedgerows are alive with birdsong and a deer is keeping it's eyes on me. Some coo's enjoying the sun and chewing the cud. A zoomed in shot of the Bass Rock and from this lofty position I always think how odd it looks...

Sunday, 31 May 2015. Rob Roy Way - Day 4 of 4 'Ardeonaig to Pitlochry'. Of the Rob Roy Way . After a night of howling wind and really heavy rain I was more than surprised to wake up to such a calm morning. I was dreading waking up to the last day being spoilt with wind and rain but sticking my head out of the tent I found that the air was cool and fresh after the nights rain and the sky looked promising with broken cloud with blue streaks poking through. The Hermit's cave is entered to the left of the ma...
