Our experience and adventures in Australia. Trees Galore in Pemberton Part 4. Our final day in Pemberton. The last nature "exploration" trip was to the Beedelup National Park to see the Beedelup Falls. Not "out-of-this-world" amazing, but worth a visit. We did the right thing and paid our dues to enter, and. Took to the track, which was very well marked and neatly presented. With many beautiful flowers on show. Western Australia is a mecca for wildflowers. One of the viewing decks. We arrived at the Glou...

Our experience and adventures in Australia. The excellent day started with a romantic lunch in Northbridge. We got to the stadium as it opened, and at first thought that the day would turn out a little gloomy. How wrong we were. The people just continued to pour in. With an amazing line up starting with Liam Finn, Ben Harper and the greatest band ever, Pearl Jam. The concert erupted into chaos as Pearl Jam set to stage. Playing songs from their latest, to songs from the past. One of the highlights is the...

Our experience and adventures in Australia. Approximately 490Km North of Adelaide, or 80Km South of Roxby Downs, is the strange town of Woomera. An interesting fact is that it's the western world's largest defence systems testing range that is managed by the Australian Defence Force. The town is also owned and operated by the Australian Defense Force. The country side is pretty green at present due to the out of sync rainfalls. Everyone has a rocket or missile laying about. The area was also used for the...

Our experience and adventures in Australia. I KNOW the SUNSET is there . . . I am so frustrated when I. Try to share it . . . What I am trying to share is. Not the sunset itself, but. EXPERIENCING the SUNSET.". Namutoni Camp, Etosha, Namibia (Dec 2006). Yesterday morning was a perfect winter's morning - crisp and clear. The sky was that special kind of blue that reminded me of one of the little blocks in my watercolour paint box when I was little - the one called " SKY BLUE. Ikea and the Mitchell Freeway.

Our experience and adventures in Australia. On lazy Saturday afternoon, we decided to take a drive up to Moora. About 180Km north of Perth, in the wheat belt region. A quite road (with stunning views) lead us to Moora, which has a population of about 2 800. There is not much to say about the town, except that the folk are friendly, the town is neat and you can get a cold beer and good meal. There is some second world war history, an amazing Town Clock, hand painted murals and classic hotels. And of cours...

Our experience and adventures in Australia. As mentioned in the previous post, we have two new additions to the family. Two Western Grey Kangeroos called. Button has already reached the "get up and go" status, and any opportunity to stretch those legs is taken with open paws. But, not for too long though .food and a warm pouch is still very important when you are 4 months old. Benjamin's fur has only started growing, but he is happy to give the whole excercise thing a go.at his pace naturally. The little...

Our experience and adventures in Australia. A daytrip to Greenhead. One lazy Sunday, we took a drive up to Greenhead with Lydia and Francois. Greenhead is about 280km from Perth, along the Indian Ocean Highway just past Jurien Bay. It's a very pleasant drive, especially this time of the year as the wildflowers are beginning to show their colours. We even took the new additions with us. We decided to stop off at Sandy Point, go for a stroll and have a picnic. We saw some Sea Lions. Fortunately, due to his...

Our experience and adventures in Australia. Easter Weekened April 2011. What a crazy year it's been. Hop, hop and it's already Easter. The Easter weekend started off with an early dinner in Cottesloe's Il Lido resturant. Great meal, great wine with our fantastic kids. After the meal, we each grabbed an ice cream, and took a walk down to the beach to catch the sunset and what a pleasant view it was. Winter is around the corner, and the sky is beginning to reflect the change. We caught the train from Joond...

Our experience and adventures in Australia. Exmouth - Scorching and Sensational. The morning of December 24th, 2010 heralded the start of our long-awaited and much anticipated trip to Exmouth, north western Australia. Dinner consisted of a couple of frosties (obviously not for the boys) and some damper with dried fruit cooked on the fire. If you believe that, you'll believe anything.). By sunrise we were back on the road . . . Early morning reflections in an uncharacteristically wet north west. Much of t...
