Kiwi West Aquatics has a committee of volunteers responsible for the day to day running of the club and ensure that the clubs duties to its stakeholders are met. The committee meets once a month on a Thursday at 7.15pm in the club rooms at West End Aquatics. Meetings are held to organise swim meets, trips, fund raising and general administration. Choosing which meet to attend will depend on the swimmer, generally swimmers registered as a full competing member can enter almost any competition. All members will need to purchase the uniform which consists of the club cap and Kiwi West shirt, (New members will get their first cap free on registration) the club will on occasion produce Kiwi West branded clothing such as caps, beanies and tops which swimmers may also wear. All swimmers are required to wear the Kiwi West Cap and Club Shirt when competing at National or away meets. Caps are available poolside from the Race Secretary. With over 2,500 hits a month on the blogspace we have out grown the current space and the move to a hosted webspace will allow the club to incorporate more features. The national zonal championship at Auckland on Sunday saw two 14-year-old national age-group records set by Kiwi West swimmer Mya Rasmussen of the All Stars team selected from Wellington-Manawatu. First was the 400m individual medley in 4 minutes 51.85 seconds, two seconds faster than the mark she set just two weeks ago in Wellington. She also set a record for the 800m freestyle in 8:56.96.
