Il gatto di combattere. Online ponderings of displaced Utahns. Thursday, November 07, 2013. It seems I neglected to actually post these pictures of my handsome little man.and now he is almost 22 months! Judah contintues to be a lot of fun! We have definitely entered the establishing independence and testing boundaries phase, which is not fun.but it is amazing to visibly see little ones learning! Judah continues to learn new words every day and is regularly putting multiple words together. Most recently, ...

Our Happy Hellwich Family. Check in to see what’s happening with us! Pee Wee Soccer November 3, 2008. 8212; hellwichfamily @ 10:16 pm. The kids are playing in an indoor peewee soccer league for three and four year olds. You may remember that they did this about 18 months ago and the kids wouldn’t participate in games unless John or I went on the floor with them. This time they are very READY to play! There are a million reasons why I love my Hamish, but that one is way up there. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

We are not very good at hanging out inactively in our hometown area in the summertime. But since baby could come at any point (really, come on now! We have been doing just that, trying to enjoy local tourist spots and events. The Big Wheel on the pier. Nice views but a bit slow, you know. We picnicked and watched the Blue Angels from a park in downtown. Grange Fest at the Nursery, with Anne M. Enjoying watermelon at our favorite river spot, Olallie State Park. And here, our big boy on his 3rd birthday.

We are starting the sixth week of Brother in a cast.it ends on Friday! The first day of vacation at the beach, Brother falls off the top bunk of bunk beds and breaks his right arm. It will be a vacation we will never forget! He handled everything like a champ. He slept the first night in a splint, got a big cast the next day and never complained since! They had to manipulate the bone back into place which was so sad. Here he is getting the first cast on. Poor guy! SLOW DOWN this Christmas season.

November 17, 2010. 7 lbs 11 oz. 20 1/4 inches long. Well, she's due in five days! Hope she comes a little sooner, my ribs would appreciate the relief. Brother and Sister are ready to see her and Granddad comes on Tuesday. Brother is continuously frustrated with being four. He's too small for things like "helping Daddy get the sick people well," stirring things on the stove, having the patience for a little sister (soon to be two little sisters), swinging by himself, and reading. She started in reverse, but is willing to push forward for high tech toys like Mommy's camera, the remote and a cell phone! I tried to get her to crawl towards her tower of nesting cups and she wouldn't. Tank, our dog, got so impatient he got up from his nap and came over to knock it down! SLOW DOWN this Christmas season. Childhood Insight: Hurricane Irene
http://matthews8.blogspot.com/2011/08/hurricane-irene.html
It was a hurricane alright. A category 1, but enough wind and rain to keep me up all night, or was that the tornado warnings? Woke up at six this morning with our flashlights, all huddled on the bed with flashlights watching Jenna clap for the first time. What a great end to the storm. An hour later we had our power back and saw the storm moving away on the radar. Praise God the storm is past and breaking apart! SLOW DOWN this Christmas season. Il gatto di combattere.

Here in Washington, the temperatures are similar to June, the snowpack more like July. We enjoyed a lovely almost-summer weekend with long and short hikes in the mountains. Anne and I on our way to Melaka Lake. Reuben enjoying the view. Kye and his buddy Eli hiked to Franklin Falls;. They did great, hiking 2 miles by themselves. K actually goes really fast and requires me to jog on the way down. He calls this 'turbo' mode. The new 'smile' from Kye. Gold Creek Pond, no snow left. Yep, 'smiling'. :).
