Cooking for one: Seven weeks in...
http://lizziecookingforone.blogspot.com/2015/01/seven-weeks-in.html
Tuesday, January 27, 2015. It's been a year and a half since I blogged on this site. In that time, I've gone back to school and finished my masters degree in journalism and had a baby. Now that I've come out of the baby fog, I find myself wanting to write about what I'm learning in this new stage of life. No guarantees of how often I will write, but I wanted to have an outlet. I have a seven-week-old. Most days I'm still in awe of that. There are things that are harder than I thought, but there are so ma...

Cooking for one: Cooking for two
http://lizziecookingforone.blogspot.com/2013/07/cooking-for-two.html
Wednesday, July 24, 2013. A post about cooking on a cooking blog! Shocking considering how long it has been. I'm learning a few things about cooking for two and cooking for a guy. While we were dating and engaged, J and I ate out a ton. I cooked occasionally for both of us and put together some single-girl meals when we didn't have plans, but I didn't do much cooking in the last year. But I missed cooking, and I'm enjoying trying some new recipes and taking advantage of fresh vegetables. 8212; I've only ...

Cooking for one: August 2013
http://lizziecookingforone.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 22, 2013. I am probably one of the worst grocery shoppers. Even when I actually make and remember to bring my list, I still manage to walk out without stuff on it. I am easily swayed by sales or coupons and end up spending money on something I won't eat or use, justifying it by saying, "But I saved 50 cents! We'll see if I can keep up the work required to continue to track it. Posted by Lizzie C. Monday, August 19, 2013. I've decided to create a blog dedicated to my school/professional l...

Tuesday, July 30, 2013. That were helpful. So I thought it might be worth sharing what I learned. 1 Use the thank-you card managers. 2 Be careful of stores that constantly change inventory. 3 Department stores are the way to go. 4 Register at that store in your hometown where everyone goes for wedding gifts. Cooking for one: October 2012
http://lizziecookingforone.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 29, 2012. The proposal story (now with video). Updated: I've added the video! If you haven't seen it on Facebook, J and I got engaged! I gave a brief synopsis of how he did it, but I wanted to record the full story here. I was waiting for the video, but I still don't have it so this will have to do. But there was nothing unusual about our date on Friday, and then Saturday he called and said he was tired from working on his deck so he'd just pick me up for church. When that happened, I...

Cooking for one: March 2013
http://lizziecookingforone.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 12, 2013. What does healing look like? In part 1, I shared my history of fibromyalgia. Here's why I started writing about it. A part of me wondered — was I using the medicine as a crutch? Had God healed me but I was refusing to trust Him to find out? Did I really need that pill every night? I went to bed earlier than usual, and I didn't give up on exercising. Even though I closed my eyes and slept for eight hours a night, I woke up feeling just as tired as I did the night before. The f...

Cooking for one: The Fitbit and the power of competition
http://lizziecookingforone.blogspot.com/2013/08/the-fitbit-and-power-of-competition.html
Thursday, August 1, 2013. The Fitbit and the power of competition. The university has a deal on Fitbits. 8212; a pedometer — for employees. You buy it at a discounted rate, and once you reach 1 million steps, they refund your money. A couple of my coworkers got them and decide to start a newsroom competition. I was curious about how many steps I take and needed some motivation to get back to the gym now that the wedding is over. So I decided to get a Fitbit and join the competition. Posted by Lizzie C.

5:30 feelings | HUFFMANIA
https://huffmania.wordpress.com/2010/11/16/530-feelings
As toilsome i wander’d virginia’s woods. November 16, 2010. When my alarm buzzed me awake at 5:30 I got up, stumbled over, silenced it, and stumbled back to bed for 10 more minutes. When it buzzed me awake again I got up, stumbled over, whacked it, and stumbled on to the bathroom to brush my teeth. Squinting resentfully into the mirror, all I could think was. I do not want to run 3 miles this morning. I am not awake enough for this. I hate life. I do not want to run 3 miles this morning. Feeling the elli...
