Klapperschlange Jones

Saturday, September 18, 2010. Grand Teton or Bust (Leaving Yellowstone). I had to include our departure from Madison campground. It became fun to get up and cook in the morning in the end. Bacon and eggs over a fire. It helps to have really good bacon. A parting shot of an elk walking though our campsite. Seems appropriate. He was leaving us and we were leaving Yellowstone. We were both headed somewhere. He was really big. You can just barely see him though the pines. A view of what I thought was the Gra...

Klapperschlange Jones: Beartooth Highway

http://klapperschlangejones.blogspot.com/2010/09/beartooth-highway.html

Monday, September 13, 2010. What can I possibly say. If the rest of the trip was boring I would be ok. Beacause this is amazing, You really must go here. I can't believe how few people know of this place. It's just incredible. I believe that this is the same creek that runs into Red Lodge. This is at the point that we're on the Beartooth. It literally follows the highway at the lower elevation. Interesting story with this About 29 cars of this make and model started out on Cody WY and drove these things ...

Klapperschlange Jones: Yellowstone Day 3 (A Day of Fishing)

http://klapperschlangejones.blogspot.com/2010/09/yellowstone-day-3-day-of-fishing.html

Thursday, September 16, 2010. Yellowstone Day 3 (A Day of Fishing). Ok Many of you who know me well know that when I fish I concentrate. So, it should be no surprise that I have few pictures of the 3rd day. It was incredible! This is the best self portrait I've ever seen. Check out that beard. Few, including myself, can grow such a husky beard. Nice and slow. And just soooo clear. You could see the fish come up and take your fly. Caddis. That's what they were eating. They come up slow...I really wish tha...

Klapperschlange Jones: Yellowstone Day 5 (Midway Geyser Basin)

http://klapperschlangejones.blogspot.com/2010/09/yellowstone-day-5-midway-geyser-basin.html

Saturday, September 18, 2010. Yellowstone Day 5 (Midway Geyser Basin). This place was awesome. I had such a hard time deciding what pictures to leave in and out. I took so many pictures here. It has all these giant holes overflowing with boiling hot water. The Firehole runs right by it. The overflows actually run right into the river. And there's a stout bridge that you have to cross to see the main attraction. This was one of the difficult ones. I couldn't decide to show this one or another one....I lov...

Klapperschlange Jones: Yellowstone Day 2

http://klapperschlangejones.blogspot.com/2010/09/yellowstone-day-2.html

Thursday, September 16, 2010. This thing was really old. It's actually from a time when this area was sub-tropical. That really suprised me. I wish it wasn't fenced in. I wanted to take a picture of dad standing on the top of it. Oh well. This is Undine Falls. These are all over the park but this one seemed really spectacular. It's a long fall down though. Very nice. I'd stop again. This is the remnants of several pools that appear to be dormant at the moment. At one time I'm sure that they were boil...

Klapperschlange Jones: Yellowstone Day 1 (Tower Falls)

http://klapperschlangejones.blogspot.com/2010/09/yellowstone-day-1-tower-falls.html

Monday, September 13, 2010. Yellowstone Day 1 (Tower Falls). Well, it didn't take long to see Yellowstone's wildlife. It happened pretty much immediately. Wildlife is all around you here. It's walking down the roads. On the side of mountains and hills. Near creeks. At YOUR CAMPSITE. AHHH. Yeah. It happened. Not a grizzly but a black bear. But who cares. A bear is a bear. I got some video of this also. You could hear their horns hitting each other. These dudes are big! I'll try to post some more stuff by ...

Klapperscheese Reloaded - Ruta Panamericana

Klapperscheese Reloaded – Ruta Panamericana.

Klapperscheese Reloaded - Ruta Panamericana

Klapperscheese Reloaded – Ruta Panamericana. Arriving in Ushuaia under heavy rain and storm. But the weather was not getting any better. Under rain and wind we continued to Ushuaia. Unfortunately we had to ride on 80 miles of dirt road. The road was one of the worst we had so far. We had to cross numerous pot holes, puddles and pieces of wash board roads. On our way back into the city, we met two other bikers, whom Carmen got to know via Facebook and whom we now met for the first time in real life. C...
