kleebtronics touchbar
http://www.kleebtronics.com/touchbar
Created by: Mark Kleback. The Touch Bar is a table-top game designed to be played by patrons of a bar using their drinks as the game pieces. People go to bars to meet groups of friends, but will often sit at the bar alone waiting for people to arrive. We wanted to engage the people sitting at the bar with a game that could be played with their drinks. This could help to both pass the time, and also spark conversation with other people at the bar. On Kill Screen Media.

For the last two months, I've been teaching at the Brooklyn International High School. As a visiting artist from Beam Center. As part of a 6-week intensive course on music, I'm introducing the students to my DIY Drums. Course, where they will learn about electronics, Arduino, programming, fabrication, and soldering. If you'd like to set up an introduction to soldering workshop using this design, contact me. This site was created using Jekyll. Code available on GitHub.

Digital Ready at BIHS. For the past eight months, I've been teaching after-school workshops at Beam Center. Centered around circuitry, physical computing, and programming. In February, we were enlisted by the Brooklyn International High School. To come into the classroom and teach two days a week for six weeks as part of the Digital Ready. For my part of the class, I used my DIY Drums. Because of programs like Digital Ready, and a dedicated staff at BIHS, the students are learning how to build circuits, ...

Inventgenuity at Beam Center. This July, I've been teaching a 2-week camp workshop at Beam Center. The theme of the workshop is Kinectic Sculpture, so I've been teaching the kids to make amusement park rides using a DC motor, an Arduino, and a few different kinds of mechanical motion. At the end of the workshop, the rides will be placed in the window of Beam Center and turned on using motion sensors as people walk past. Here are some pictures of the workshop so far:. 3-D Sensing and Visualization. Like Glitch, I also finished another 7-week course with Kyle McDonald called 3-D Sensing and Visualization. The course covered a wide range of content, from building a 3-D scanner from scratch, to projection mapping, to 3-D printing. I was immersed heavily in openFrameWorks. And its library for the Kinect. Using the depth camera on the Kinect, you can make lots of cool stuff. Like this:. Swarm Tracking in 3D. For more work from this class check out our class blog:.
AC Symphony
http://technicallydesigned.com/2014/10/19/ac-symphony
Side effects of a seizure. AC Symphony is a instrument, design and performed by Danne Woo. That allows the musician to play AC powered appliances. The control center is an AC sequencer that plays all the appliances in sequence. You can change the speed, pause, reset, harmonize and control the amount of voltage going to each appliance. Essentially its a power strip on steroids. The heart of the control center is a sequencer board designed by Mark Kleeb. Show, created by the NYU ITP. Using the DarkZen Theme.

http://blog.kleebtronics.com/standing-desk
Created by: Mark Kleback. Over the past few months, we've been designing adjustable standing desks that are lightweight, cheap, and easy to fabricate using a CNC machine and minimal extra parts. Our first design used two pieces of wood held together by three threaded bolts. The idea was that a shelf could slide up and down using the notches cut into the wood. Although this design ultimately failed, it works well as a desk for my stationary bike. This site was created using Jekyll. Code available on GitHub.

Boutique record labels seem to be successful on a small scale a rare song or two by a successful band on a 7 record but this model doesn’t work for bands that want to record a full-length with wide distribution. The collector’s item model needs to carry over to mainstream music in order to sustain the industry. This concept will be presented as my final for the Printing Code class at ITP. I’ve pitched the idea to a few different bands, and I hope to have a physical album printed by December 9th.

http://blog.kleebtronics.com/posture-sensor
This posture sensor was developed for the class Rest of You. At ITP. It uses a wearable Lilypad Arduino, flex sensor, and wearable vibration motor sewn into a tight-fitted shirt. I've been working with devices to tackle poor posture, and the idea of a subliminal reminder that you have bad posture while working on a computer was the motivation behind this project. This site was created using Jekyll. Code available on GitHub.

Kleeb Versus The World. Music, Electronics, Bikes, and Brooklyn. Physical Computing: Blink the LED. September 14, 2011. My first ITP-Blog will focus on a field that I have a lot of experience with over the past few years: Arduino. Though I’ve been dabbling with this microcontroller for about three years, I figured it would be beneficial to take this entry-level course and learn the coding from the ground up. Arduino SMT Uno Board. So I decided to get a bit creative and make a cascading LED pattern. P...
