Those little moments of being overlooked, being shunned and being lightly mocked, burn deeply and leave permanent scars. How is it that an outward visage does not reflect an inner pain? Friday, April 04, 2014. A life in boxes. Guess the pictures have died. Blogger obviously didn't like my choice of colour. Finally took the remnants of the marriage out of storage and a cursory glance through the boxes seems to symbolise the marriage itself: meaningless and torn. It is good, however, to have the Japanese novelists back home. Tanizaki, Dazai, Soseki, Ogai have all been missed - so I have plunged into Niwa's The Buddha Tree. I feel the passage of time so much more strongly lately.

Monday, July 28, 2014. Thannasaki. Miss him. Although he had a penchant for the hostess bars which I found a bit of a bore, he went out of his way to treat me as well as he could. We followed the herders' directions and came to a large river that cut off the road. The vigles were on the right and the whole scene was just idyll. I have been an artisan woodworker for many years, and truly find the art to be very therapeutic. Practically all of my turnings are from downed trees or reclaimed lumber. Woodworking is cheaper than therapy! You could probably find what you needed in a big box store, but would it be EXACTLY what you were looking for? None at this time. Look back for new gallery entries or craft fairs where I will be participating. From cutting boards to cutlery the utensils you use in your house do not have to look drab!
