The KLR's the Star. Saturday, January 17, 2009. The end of the bitumen. So managed a first good long ride off the bitumen - about 500klms, of which probably 250 or so was on trail. Wow, the KLR surprised me, and actually I surprised myself! 2nd Jan '09, 6,100klms:. Battery dried out completely whilst I was away over Christmas. The KLR's the Star. Saturday, January 17, 2009. Well, managed to drop the bike for the first time already. Embarrassingly in a driveway whilst pushing it - but i guess you have to learn these things somehow. Damage bill: luckily just a (front) brake lever. But geez this thing is fun so far. Managed to go a few gravel roads by this stage, but nothing more than a few loose pebbles. Oh, and nearly dropped it in the mud during a 200m ride off the gravel :-). Let;'s hope we keep that balance. I love my bike!
