knancyknits: Frankenknit

http://knancyknits.blogspot.com/2009/01/frankenknit.html

Knitting Centered Blog Regarding All Things Design Related. Sunday, January 25, 2009. I had my ancient Kenmore sewing machine serviced recently, and have gotten into sewing again (after a many-year hiatus, because the sewing machine needed servicing and I was too cheap to fix it while I was a student). I started with recovering our hideous couch pillows. I kept this felted sweater in my sewing stash for the past few years, and always knew it had aspirations for a second life. Here he is next to the other...

knancyknits: Shibori Felting gone bad

http://knancyknits.blogspot.com/2009/02/shibori-felting-gone-bad.html

Knitting Centered Blog Regarding All Things Design Related. Saturday, February 07, 2009. Shibori Felting gone bad. I finally finished knitting a giant swath of stockinette I planned to shibori felt and then sew into a pillow cover for the living room with a zipper and all. Well, it felted, but the shibori part was a bit of a disaster. Most of the bottlecaps fell off in the wash and the finished product looks like a giant piece of felt with a leprosy problem:. With flash. As if that helps:. Professionally...

http://knancyknits.blogspot.com/2008/07/you-must-go-to-this-website.html

Knitting Centered Blog Regarding All Things Design Related. Thursday, July 31, 2008. You must go to this website! My dear friend Stephen has a small cookie company, Albuqcookie. And his website just went live and is taking orders! The cookies are amazing and worth every cent! They make great gifts; I buy some for my parents every Christmas. I served bags of Albuqcookies at my wedding as the favors! My favorite are the lavender lemon biscotti. You must try some so you can have a favorite of your own!

knancyknits: Dang!

http://knancyknits.blogspot.com/2008/09/dang.html

Knitting Centered Blog Regarding All Things Design Related. Sunday, September 21, 2008. It's been a month since I posted, just about. Jeez! I have some knitting to show for, but still need to photograph it. But I can show this:. This is the ONLY tomato we have gotten out of our garden this year. It's been a shitty tomato year here in NM, apparently, which makes me feel less bad about my gardening skills. I felt bad eating it. But it was soooooooo good! Good luck on your exam! knancyknits: It's done!

http://knancyknits.blogspot.com/2008/07/its-done.html

Knitting Centered Blog Regarding All Things Design Related. Saturday, July 26, 2008. The drop stitch lace tank is finished, and I love it! I wore it to work and received many a compliment, especially since no one knew I made it! I love knitted items that don't look "homemade". Handmade is very different from homemade. I made it in the smallest size in the book, which was like, a 28" bust (which I am not! The sweater looks great. Way to go. It's super cute. I love it! Eeeeh, que cute!

Wednesday, February 28, 2007. Sometimes you have to fall flat on your face in order to begin again. Maybe the unfortunate slip on black ice this morning that landed me face-down in a parking lot was just a way of helping me to really get back on my feet? And now I am ready to stand up for myself and be strong. Or maybe it was just falling on my face, smashing my apple and getting some bruises. Either way, I suspect I am stronger for the experience. Now I hope to go for at least a month without falling.

Thursday, February 19, 2009. Alexander Ovechkin Is Like a Drug. Or why hockey makes me happy. Yesterday was a tough day. Neil's company announced furloughs, I had some frustrations at the office, it was cloudy and cold all day and the news about the economy continued to be grim. Then we went to a Capitals game. So thanks Ovie, for the inspiration and the excuse to scream at the top of my lungs. (It's incredibly therapeutic.). Tuesday, February 17, 2009. The most depressing article I've read of late.

Gjetost: Canyonlands, part 2

http://gjetost.blogspot.com/2012/04/canyonlands-part-2.html

Thursday, April 26, 2012. Canyonlands, part 2. If you missed it. This is a trip we took at the beginning of April. We had just two nights of camping in the backcountry of the Needles district, but that provided enough photographic wonders for two blog posts. Here's our Chesler Park campsite for the second night. We got there relatively early because it was not a far walk from the first campsite. Here we are at the bottom of the canyon, walking up a sandy wash southward toward Druid Arch.

Gjetost: Turkey Weekend in the Canyon

http://gjetost.blogspot.com/2013/12/turkey-weekend-in-canyon.html

Friday, December 6, 2013. Turkey Weekend in the Canyon. Near the top, the Hermit Trail meanders along a side canyon before opening up into the main canyon. The lovely Santa Maria Spring reststop, about 2.5 miles into the canyon. A view of the chocolate milk colored Colorado River. View of the river from the Tonto Plateau. At this point, we headed east along the Tonto trail toward Monument Creek. Friday morning, an eerie cloud hung above making the canyon look much shorter than it is. It was about 5 miles...

trikotajci: April 2008

http://trikotajci.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html

Trikotajci means "Knitter" in Turkish. Wednesday, April 30, 2008. I found this blog. Today in my searching for cool stuff. It's in Turkish, but the knitting stuff is beautiful! Just like a smile, knitting says the same thing in any language. Tuesday, April 29, 2008. I finished a sock! I am finally finished with one of the Winter Socks on Magic Loop. It was so easy, I can't believe I didn't start socks six months ago! I'm very happy with it, and it actually fits too! Tuesday, April 22, 2008. 8 GANGSTA NAM...

trikotajci: movies

http://trikotajci.blogspot.com/2009/01/movies.html

Trikotajci means "Knitter" in Turkish. Sunday, January 11, 2009. Last night we say Gran Torino. Clint Eastwood played Walt, a recent widower. He has lived in the same neighborhood for a very long time, and has watched it change over the years. Now it is mostly populated by the Hmong, and having been in the Korean War, Walt has his own distorted prejudices about these people. Awesome on going to yoga. I've been to yoga once in my life, and it kicked my a$! I was sore for days! January 12, 2009 at 11:53 AM.

Gjetost: Merry Xmas from Arizona

http://gjetost.blogspot.com/2009/12/merry-xmas-from-arizona.html

Thursday, December 31, 2009. Merry Xmas from Arizona. The last minute plan was to head to Chiricahua. For some nice winter desert camping. However, as our trips to Arizona often turn out, we hit a snowstorm. Chiricahua was buried under 6 inches of snow and hidden under heavy clouds. So we continued a bit further west to Cochise Stronghold. Also buried under 6 inches of snow, but with clear skies. The dogs love to play "King of the rock", but they're not match for Troy. Campground near Highway 60 in New M...

Gjetost: Obligatory Balloon Fiesta Photos

http://gjetost.blogspot.com/2012/10/obligatory-balloon-fiesta-photos.html

Sunday, October 14, 2012. Obligatory Balloon Fiesta Photos. It's been half a year since the last blog post and what has happened that finally makes me post a new blog? This event in my town claims to be the most photographed. Event in the world. I am no photographer, but I happen to have a camera, so here's some enjoyable photos from Saturday. Already a couple of hundred balloons in the air as the sun rises over the Sandias. More balloons are just getting ready to rise. Troy's favorite balloon: Spider Pig.

Gjetost: Geek knitter

http://gjetost.blogspot.com/2012/04/geek-knitter.html

Tuesday, April 24, 2012. My favorite bag turned out to be this one. It is knit from a self-striping yarn (so no real colorwork there) and then felted. After felting, I needle-felted the metro logo using dyed roving. This is my favorite of the three because it turned out strong and protective for the laptop and it was the easiest to make. You can always get more knitting details and links to patterns or charts from my Ravelry project pages. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.
