Brooklyn Baby: July 2008

Behold the mighty trumpet player! Look how close he is to Eddie Vedder. I'm swooning. It's like I'm in Jr. High all over again. Shane is in L.A. recording a song with Pearl Jam as a part of a VH1 Who Tribute concert. It airs on Thursday. He sent me some photos of himself (always dangerous) wearing the zebra print robe hanging in his swanky ass hotel. Rock and roll, Shane. A Future Music Critic? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). This is a new phrase in our house coined by little Maymay. Usage examples include sentences like, "You little coinky coink." and "It's so coinky." Shane and I have also folded it into our own vocabularies. Last night, for example, I whacked my toe and said, "What the COINK! You can hear Mahalia making up a coinky coink song in this video. My other favorite line from this little film is, "Did you hear the noise of my butt? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Coinky Coink This is a new phrase in our house co.

As I Know It: December 2010
http://patneaude.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
As I Know It. I live in Albany. I play the saxophone. This is my blog. Sunday, December 05, 2010. Top 10 of 2010. Here are ten albums I really enjoyed this year:. In 2002, pianist Brad Mehldau teamed up with pop producer Jon Brion to produce Largo. An incredibly influential jazz/rock crossover album that successfully combined spontaneous improvisation with pop production values. Eight years later the two have reconvened to produce Highway Rider. 2 Myron Walden In This World. Yesterday You Said Tomorrow.

We celebrated on April 8th at the Tractor Tavern with one of the best bands on the jazz fusion scene right now, Kneebody. It was a great night and also a great way to send our sax player Art Brown on a month long trip down to New Orleans Jazz Fest with the Polyrhythmics. Looking forward to playing with these guys again over the summer. Kneebody (left) Hardcoretet (right). Which is a total throwback to my vocal jazz...

Day 367 Epic Fail. Back to writing…soon. →. June 8, 2012. This show has been one of AWS’s most complex to produce. Merely transporting and acquiring the right prop is tedious but essential. I give a lot of credit to Jason Varvaro and the other production staff foraging it possible. This has been a pure work of art in itself! Although Amsterdam is a truly beautiful city, I had the most fun in Cork, Ireland listening to all the local Irish traditional. Share on Facebook (Opens in new window). Back to writi...
