Chris Pal-Freeman - Technology, Brewing and Photography. 4 Batches in 5 Weeks. 10/22/2014: Ninkasi Clone Project 2: Total Domination IPA (Batch 1). Update: 11/7/2014 - into the Keg. I seem to have made more of a session Pale Ale rather then a true clone of Total Domination, but from what I sampled, I am pleased with the outcome. I will definitely attempt a true clone in the near future. 10/28/2014: My Innkeeper's Maple Bourbon Stout. Update: 11/07/2014 - in goes the Bourbon! Clarent was the result of my ...

Chris Pal-Freeman - Technology, Brewing and Photography. Well it is that time of year! Anyway, I digress. As I was saying, when I went to online to order my grain a funny thing happened there was a sale. Kolsch Grain Kits were half off. Hmm. I am sure I can figure out how make a Christmas Kolsch. Update: 10/24/2014 - into the Keg. Figure out a way to add a little holiday flair to a Klosch, I did! Other Blogs to Read:. The Nonsensical Roads of Pittsburgh. Random Musings of a Fledging Writer.

Chris Pal-Freeman - Technology, Brewing and Photography. There are several ways to mark your kegs so you know what beers you have on hand. I started off using bread tags and a sharpie - cheap and functional, but not much room. I looked into Grogtags, love the idea! Mine tags have spots for Beer Name, Date Kegged, ABV and notes. I use the note section for Tasting Notes or Aging Information. How do you mark your kegs? Other Blogs to Read:. The Nonsensical Roads of Pittsburgh.

Chris Pal-Freeman - Technology, Brewing and Photography. Over the next month, I will be using both Brewer’s Friend and Brewtoad Pro. One drawback already to Brewtoad, is I had to subscribe to their Pro service to get an apples to apples comparison. But, we will see… Ultimately, I may have to look into creating my own set of tools to get everything I want. Which is one of the reasons, I started the blog. So, Brewer’s Friend. Chris Pal-Freeman - Technology, Brewing and Photography. Okay, I am a bit overdue on the review of my experience with Brewtoad, this is due to the pandora’s box that I opened by conducting my experiment. First, let me say, I am not a paid reviewer and have no vested interest in swaying anyone’s opinion. I am simply relaying my thoughts and experiences. With that in mind, I really wanted to like Brewtoad! Brewgr, the lucky find? Questions about my experiences the web apps? Other Blogs to Read:. Random Mus...

Chris Pal-Freeman - Technology, Brewing and Photography. Ninkasi Clone Project 1: Update and Water Upgrade? Well, I had a chance to age and now sample my Believer Double Red from My Ninkasi Clone Project. The Final Gravity was 1.016. The Flavor was good, but the mouth feel and maltiness were not there. Not bad for the first attempt. This batch tastes more like Ninkasi’s Dawn of the Red lighter in body and very hop forward. Happy Mistake! Where did I go wrong? Other Blogs to Read:.
