Ramblings: January 2015

http://knit1605.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html

Mostly knitting, some crocheting, some musings. Tuesday, January 20, 2015. And, here is the final version, with the second layer added plus a third layer of castles:. I've been working on getting the Geek-along. By the way, the Geek-along has all new squares this year - in dk rather than worsted weight yarn. I'm still working on a knitted cabled pullover and a Tunisian crochet pullover. I'll post pics next month. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Brian's World Cup blog. Bits and Bobs blog. I test knit for:.

Ramblings: June 2015

http://knit1605.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html

Mostly knitting, some crocheting, some musings. Tuesday, June 30, 2015. I feel old now. As of this month, I'm officially old. June was a cloudiest June in record as well. And, I like sunny days (with, of course, some rainy days in between to make things interesting). I made my first tam! I followed Alice Starmore's direction for designing a tam. This is the top - which looks an awful like a stargate. Here's another view (modeled by a small-sized soccer ball):. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I test knit for:.

Ramblings: February

http://knit1605.blogspot.com/2015/02/february.html

Mostly knitting, some crocheting, some musings. Wednesday, February 25, 2015. I'm trying to post at least once a month this year. Here's the snow we got on the first of February. The pic was taken the next day, but there is still about a foot on the ground - much more where it had been piled up to clear paths and the road. I didn't get the double knit blanket seamed together, but I did get a lace hotpad/doily crocheted. I found the one this was based on while emptying a box. Brian's World Cup blog.

Ramblings: April 2014

http://knit1605.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html

Mostly knitting, some crocheting, some musings. Tuesday, April 22, 2014. Here are my first 6 squares from the Geek-along. My favorite is pi which I started it on pi day and which is reversible (hard to do in double knitting). The squares are the TriForce with Hyrulian crest, caffeine, air-nation, tatoo from BSG, pi, and TMNT. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Brian's World Cup blog. Bits and Bobs blog. Patterns at Knit Picks. Mostly knitting, some crocheting, some musings. Tuesday, March 31, 2015. We went to Wrigleyville last Saturday and don't see how Wrigley Field will be ready for the Cubs season opener on Sunday, April 5th, - just over a week from when this picture was taken:. The field itself looks nice, but there is a lot of construction still going on. There must be a fair number of coyotes in the area. I hear them howling just about every night around midnight. They don't howl for too long, but it is an eerie ...I've ...

Since I've been knitting i-cords recently for the first time for a while, I thought I'd post about a couple alternatives - a twisted cord and a crocheted cord. The other cord, a crocheted cord, is a lot like a knitted i-cord. Here's one way to make the cord:. Make a ch-4 loop. Rnd 1: sc 6 into loop. Sc 3 in 2nd chain f...

Monday, January 11, 2010. Oven-cooked pork and potatoes. This is an example of why my recipes never turn out the same. But, it did turn out pretty well and was a nice way to use leftover pork chops. I saw an interesting recipe for cooking beef tips and potatoes in the oven. It turned out, after I started, that the only ingredients I had at home were the potatoes, salt, pepper, and olive oil. Here's the recipe:. Peel and cut up potatoes and place in pan. (- used a 9" x 6" pan.). Drizzle with olive oil.

Squeaky's Stuff: Closed-form heel formula

http://rhitsqueaky.blogspot.com/2006/09/closed-form-heel-formula.html

A midwestern girl moves to the desert and tries to adapt. Friday, September 08, 2006. In my notes on modifying the heel. From my Widdershins pattern. Recipes: February 2010

http://carol-recipes.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html

Wednesday, February 10, 2010. Recently, I wanted to fix some Stroganoff for supper. (It's a long story. But, whenever I hear a mention of food poisoning, I get hungry for Stroganoff. Sometimes, negative reinforcement doesn't work.) I had most of the ingredients, and the rest I could substitute for. But, I didn't have any egg noodles. I remember that my grandmother used to make egg noodles and dry them over the backs of chairs. So, I decided to try. Here's a basic recipe:. 1 egg, beaten. 1/2 t garlic salt.

Combine all. Add to cooked shredded pork (had about 1 1/2 pounds left-over cooked pork). Cook in oven over medium heat. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
