Knit for Victory: March 2015
http://knitforvictoryblog.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Monday, 23 March 2015. A small knitted snipe on a grey March beach. I love these little birds' long, long beaks! Wednesday, 11 March 2015. Easter chick free knitting pattern. Here's my knitting pattern for a little Easter chick! He (or she) is quick and simple to knit - why not knit a chick or two as little Easter gifts or decorations? The free knitting pattern is below. This little chick is worked in stocking stitch, on a pair of 4mm (UK 8, US 6) knitting needles using DK yarn. Oddments of yellow DK yarn.
Knit for Victory: December 2014
http://knitforvictoryblog.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 9 December 2014. This knitted European Green Woodpecker was hanging out in my freezing winter garden. Not a great photo, but I was in a rush because I was feeling guilty about the crowd of sparrows I had disturbed at the bird feeders while faffing around with the woodpecker. It's not nice being guilt - tripped by tiny, cold birds. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Subscribe to my mailing list. Worthing, West Sussex, United Kingdom. View my complete profile. Lady Jane Grey's gloves - Knit for Victory
http://www.knitforvictory.com/2011/10/lady-jane-greys-gloves
This isn't a hobby, it's a post apocalyptic skill. Lady Jane Grey’s gloves. This is a pattern for a gorgeously long, warm pair of cable fingerless mittens. So thick and warm, they’re almost sweater sleeves! Knitted for a friend, I was very sad to see them go, especially in this cold weather. This is the first of a few cable mitten patterns I intend to put up over the next couple of weeks, once I get them typed up from the back of envelope stage! C8B = Move next 4 stitches to cable needle and hold in BACK.

Part of the not-so-simple socks for babies series) I’ve decided to post a number of patterns I’ve created for baby socks that aren’t just toe up/cuff down stocking stitch as I’ve realised that there’s something rather marvellous about creating a really tiny pair of socks with an exquisitely complex pattern. It gives you the chance […]. Two tone toe up baby socks. The third in my series of cable knit long gloves – this tim...

Fisherman's Friends - Knit for Victory
http://www.knitforvictory.com/2011/11/fishermans-friends
This isn't a hobby, it's a post apocalyptic skill. The third in my series of cable knit long gloves – this time with fingers and using a cable pattern called Fishernet. This is a 24row cable pattern which may seem daunting but is fairly easy to work out once you’ve done the first repeat. Using 3.75mm needles and DK yarn – bought mine from the wonderful King Craig Fabrics. T3b – slip next st onto cable needle, hold at back, knit next 2 sts, then purl st from cable needle. K2, p2 for 10 rounds. Knit until ...

Tuesday, 5 April 2011. How to make doll's hair. If you're making one of my Severus Snape or Lucius Malfoy dolls, do have a look at this step-by-step guide to creating the perfect doll's hair. On my sister blog, Knit For Victory. Warning: does contain graphic shots of crochet hooks being inserted into the back of Severus Snape's head. Ouch. Told you. Sorry. Knit forwards {understand backwards}. How to knit a Pretty Old Danish Folk Sock. Tutorial for : Twisted Crochet Edge (1860). Wednesday, July 24, 2013. I recently finished this pleated skirt. The pattern is free from Ravelry. It was a stash reducing and experimental project, however it was a success. The yarn is Dansk Pelsuld 8/2. There are only a few Danish Spinning Mills left. This one, Hjelholt Spinnery, collects wool from farmers who breed Gotlandsheep. The skirt is called Bulgarian and it is original...
