Projects - knitheca
http://knitheca.doxatheca.com/projects
On this site I will give a summary of finished projects. When possible I try to add the source of the pattern and the yarn. But since I tend to change my project during the process it will rarely fit a written pattern to 100%. And then sometimes I improvise without even taking notes (which can lead to fun or disaster). So please forgive me if I fail to give these informations on older projects. Simple open knit pullover. Lace pullover and shawl.

I have a lot knittings books and magazines. My favourite knitting magazine is wwww.vogueknitting.com. I often had trouble to get it here in Austria. A few years ago it was sold in a store in Vienna, but now it is not available anymore. But thanks to my lovely fiancee who travels regularly to Seattle, USA I had almost no losses :-).

http://knitheca.blogspot.com/2012/05/corn-lace-jacket.html
Sunday, May 6, 2012. This is a lace jacket made of corn wool (Lana Grossa yarn from. But unfortunately not available anymore). The pattern is inspired by Vogue Knitting, Early Fall 2011, Lace Jacket (see. Lace Noir, Lace Jacket #22. I didn't add the button because I couldn't find one which would work (still searching). I love the colors and the cozy yarn. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Currently working on. red silk lace vest. This blog is part of knitheca.doxatheca.com.
knitheca blog: Currently working on... red silk lace vest
http://knitheca.blogspot.com/2012/05/currently-working-on-red-silk-lace-vest.html
Sunday, May 20, 2012. Currently working on. red silk lace vest. Red silk lace vest. I discovered this gorgeous silk yarn at Laufmasche.at (Burgunder Jaipur Silk from BC Garne). And simply had to buy it. Since I only bought 4 balls at first (because it is rather pricey) I decided to do a lace pattern. I couldn't find a full pattern in my extensive library of magazines and books so I decided to work with a pattern from an old farmers knitting book and do the rest myself. knitheca blog: January 2013
http://knitheca.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 6, 2013. This is one of my earlier projects. I used the pattern "Cabled Cardigan" from Runway Knits: 30 Fashion-Forward Designs. I am pretty sure the yarn was Lana Grossa Bingo. Atypical for me I followed exactly the pattern. I love this cardigan because of the color and the interesting cut. This was the first time I was introduced to short rows and I was excited about this new technique. Simple open work pullover. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Simple open work pullover.
knitheca blog: Simple open work pullover
http://knitheca.blogspot.com/2013/01/simple-open-work-pullover.html
Sunday, January 6, 2013. Simple open work pullover. Inspired by all the open knit sweaters currently available I decided to knit one on my own. I used a yarn I already had lying around: Biolana, Linea Pura from Lana Grossa (a mixture of alpaca, virgin wool and soy wool). Now I have a sweater which can be worn with or without collar. Not bad for only some days work during holidays. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Simple open work pullover. This blog is part of knitheca.doxatheca.com.
knitheca blog: Reversible lace pullover
http://knitheca.blogspot.com/2012/10/reversible-lace-pullover.html
Sunday, October 28, 2012. It's been a long time since I could finish a project. I was a little preoccupied with work, vacation and other topics so I had to postpone knitting. This pullover (and the shawl) are now finally finished and I am particularly proud of it. It was inspired by this pattern: http:/ www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/v-lace. But I used only the pattern itself and did the fitting (increases/decreases) myself. Here you can see the pattern detail from both sides:. The used yarn is Setanova.

knitheca blog: freestyle multicolored vest
http://knitheca.blogspot.com/2012/05/freestyle-multicolored-vest.html
Saturday, May 12, 2012. I am particularly proud of this work. It is improvised from the beginning and made of rest wool, mostly merino wool. The used pattern is a typical fair isle pattern, typically used for the collar (knit two, purl two). It is worked in the round and fitted to my body. I love the colours and how they fit together - even though I bought them all independently. On the right you can see how I did the decrease for the waist and the increase for the bust. http://knitheca.blogspot.com/2012/06/smok-vest.html
Sunday, June 24, 2012. Since I can't finish my earlier procect (. Red silk lace vest). Because I am still waiting for additional yarn (I have miscalculated, again) I decided to slip in something fast. This is a linen vest in smok pattern. I don't actually know if the pattern is called that in way in english. It is a german name and I couldn't find it in english. I changed the neckline a little bit and I added a border to the armhole. The yarn is also. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
