The Knitmommy Chronicles... | My journey as a Mother, Wife, Crafter and Chronic Disease Fighter
The Knitmommy Chronicles…. My journey as a Mother, Wife, Crafter and Chronic Disease Fighter. To sell or not to sell…. September 5, 2010 in Altered Tins. That is the question! August 18, 2010 in Day to Day. Where oh where has my knitting mojo gone? I’m trying to work on a shawl but I’m just not feelin it for some reason. Maybe I need a different pattern or a new squishy yarn or a new pair of circs to inspire me. I just wish the funk would lift so I could feel that sun on my face! May 5, 2010 in Day to Day.

So I opened the package and found some goodies! Boy did it make my day! A bar of Peppermint Milk Chocolate from Seattle Chocolates, a tin of Peace Mints "Power to the people with fresh breath", and a set of stitch markers that Jeanne made herself! What I want to know is, how did you know I LOVED Peppermint Milk Chocolate? I picked up ...

Monday, January 9, 2012. Intarsia and the Colorblock Phenomenon in Knitwear and Pop Culture. Ecently another Etsy member inspired me to get back to color work. I have to admit I have been a bit jaded lately - for a knitwear designer some things (like intarsia and other labor intensive colorwork) seem a bit gratuitous sometimes. My short row dress over a year ago was my last real exploration of colorwork (see the first image under Gallery. Kanye West 2004 Intarsia Sweater. BIG in COOGI Early 90s. And then...

Knit MORe ANd . . .
Knit MORe ANd . . . Thursday, June 10, 2010. My daughter participated in “The Glass Slipper”. A ballet based on the story of Cinderella. During one part of the play she and a fellow dancer performed a “magical” dance, which turned straw into gold. Together my daughter and I helped out by creating the costume. We started by making a paper Mache covered balloon. This we attached to a bicycle helmet. I carved a nose from Styrofoam. We attached the fabric and eyes using hot glue. Thursday, January 28, 2010.
