GRANNY'S WORLD: January 2015
http://knitsbysue.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Welcome, pop in and stay awhile. My Pages feel free to take a wander. Knitting - Dog coats. Yes dog coats or sweaters, whatever you want to call them. My youngest daughter has a friend who has 2 dachshunds, Daphne and Winston, they are feeling the cold, aren't we all. So I offered to knock them up some coats. I went online and printed off an assortment of free patterns, but plumped for the Easy Dog Sweaters from Talking Tails. Friday, January 30, 2015. Links to this post. Big Comic Relief Crafternoon.
GRANNY'S WORLD: Our Garden
http://knitsbysue.blogspot.com/p/our-garden.html
Welcome, pop in and stay awhile. My Pages feel free to take a wander. We are fortunate to have a large garden, well large by UK standards. Whilst at times I wish it wasn't so big we do get enjoyment out of it. I plan to add pictures for each month of the year, so I have started from December 2012 with also an assortment of collages from previous years. Its good to see how the garden develops over the year. 5 Oct 2014 - still some colour in the garden. Last tomatoes - looks like I will be making chutney.
GRANNY'S WORLD: August Break
http://knitsbysue.blogspot.com/2015/07/august-break.html
Welcome, pop in and stay awhile. My Pages feel free to take a wander. I saw this on Facebook earlier and decided it was time for me to take a break from blogging for a while. The idea is that you post just a photo each day/week/whenever in August. There is a list of suggested topics to choose from as a guide, but you can post what you like. If you fancy joining in then go the Susannah's blog for full details and link up. Wednesday, July 29, 2015. 29 July 2015 at 20:03. Just be sure to come back, okay?
GRANNY'S WORLD: December 2014
http://knitsbysue.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Welcome, pop in and stay awhile. My Pages feel free to take a wander. We have had a lovely, though chilly walk into St Ives today. A spot of lunch and a pint or two. A quick hello and happy New Year to the Dolphin knitters; then home in time to catch this beautiful sunset. The photos are in reverse order, as the sunset was the most important. Hoping for a trip to the coast if the weather holds out, so I will make sure I take my camera. Tuesday, December 30, 2014. Links to this post. The Jones' arrived ju...

http://knitsbysue.blogspot.com/2015/05/8-days-to-go.html
Welcome, pop in and stay awhile. My Pages feel free to take a wander. 8 Days to go. With the wedding just around the corner, all eyes are on the weather. Our forecast for next week is rain everyday in varying degrees. I have laid awake since 3am mulling over the possibilities of how to cope with 70 guests in the event of rain at our garden wedding. we have plenty of cover so thats not really a problem, its just the getting in between places. wellies, umbrellas, small children, wet feet. I will ask the ra...

everyday, every day: Day 9: FMS photo-a-day - natural
http://everyday365nicci.blogspot.com/2014/01/day-9-fms-photo-day-natural.html
Everyday, every day. Friday, January 10, 2014. Day 9: FMS photo-a-day - natural. This stunning bloom was one of many just the same in a garden bed in the school car park. I hadn't noticed them until one day I chanced to park right beside them (I do believe we were running late that day). At the time I lamented that there were no upcoming photo prompts which would fit this snap, so naturally. I thought of it when today's prompt came up. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Everyday, every day. Friday, January 17, 2014. Day 14: FMS photo-a-day - three things. Three rolls of washi tape I bought at Salamanca before Christmas. I actually really struggled with this prompt, but then last night (several days late) dreamt of taking pictures of my washi tape rolls. Well, why not? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Everyday, every day. Friday, January 17, 2014. FMS photo-a-day - tiny. My tiny Josie dwarfed by an old tree (same tree as for black white). Day 16: FMS photo-a-day - sun. I've taken a few photos of the sun for FMS-photo-a-day in the past, and here wanted to show the effects of the summer sun. Our once green grass is as brown as brown now, in high summer. everyday, every day: January 13: daring Josie
http://everyday365nicci.blogspot.com/2014/01/january-13-daring-josie.html
Everyday, every day. Tuesday, January 14, 2014. January 13: daring Josie. Next she came down with Pascal, and boy were they fast! The first time I kind of caught her before she went flying off Pascal's lap. Next time, Pascal held onto her as they reached the bottom, but they both ended up face first in the soft fall. Josie was filthy from head to foot, but she still thought it was awesome fun! I made pizza for dinner tonight, with the prospect of not having to cook tomorrow night especially appealing!
Pumpkin Spins: April 2013
http://pumpkinspins.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
With the momentum from having finished one of the items on my goals list, I immediately started on the next project that didn't involve me having to buy yarn (I'm waiting until next month when I'll get to go somewhere super secret). I've been wanting to knit a pair of Skew. Socks for a while now because the construction of the pattern fascinates me. Even better, they are knit toe-up! Here's what my first sock. Looks like as of now:. This is Crystal Palace Yarns Mini-Mochi. Labels: crystal palace yarns.

Everyday, every day. Friday, January 17, 2014. January 14, 15, 16: oh dear, its a slippery slope. Golly gosh, I missed one post over the weekend and my blogging week fell apart. I think I have a new tactic, so we'll see next week whether it has helped :-). Come Tuesday, the weather forecast was for a hot hot day, so we began with a plan of staying home with all the curtains and blinds closed! We ate our pizza for dinner, so glad to not have to cook! With no real idea where would be the best place to star...
everyday, every day: January 10: fun in the sun
http://everyday365nicci.blogspot.com/2014/01/january-10-fun-in-sun.html
Everyday, every day. Friday, January 10, 2014. January 10: fun in the sun. Today, being Friday, was Mums' Group day. I love that the Mums' Group I joined when Pascal was only twelve weeks old is still going strong. Six of the original eight mums still arrange to meet every week, and we are making plans right now so that we (and the kids) still keep seeing lots of one another as our once-babies head to full-time school. Little cry, a cuddle and she was off again. After a quick kip in the car, Josie woke w...

Cooking with Wonton wrappers. August 11, 2015. I was pleasantly surprised to find this in a small Asian cash and carry grocers. Now I don’t need to travel all the way to the Chinese supermarket to get them. These are to make Wontons for a broth or a noodle soup. As a child, I liked the wrapper much more than the stuffing. I quite often use them to make steamed Shumai. Shumai, also called siu mai or shaomai, are pork dumplings. It is a type of traditional Chinese dumpling served as dim sum. 1 tsp soy sauce.

knitsbywhit | Exploring the world one fiber at a time
Exploring the world one fiber at a time. Posted in Getting Crafty. Over the holidays, I had some extra time to get back to practicing with my drop spindle. I have to say it is a lot easier to keep the spindle going now. I managed to spin these little wooly delights in a little over two hours. I also had time to finally upcyle some old jeans. I had two pairs that had some serious crotch holes. Rather than patching them up, I decided to create some denim yarn. I used this tutorial. Posted in Getting Crafty.
