Tuesday, May 22, 2012. Places to go and people to see. The highlight of the trip was a "field trip" to a local alpaca farm. They had 9 alpacas of various colors. They were so cute and there was one that loved giving "kisses" to everyone. My big score was a pound of alpaca roving for $25! Tiff, Gus and yours truly. I heard Tiff inside saying "If it's housekeeping, they've got a key", Gus told her "Just get the door". Tiff opened the door and saw me, her eye's were HUGE. She looked at me and said "NO SHIT!

The complete process from animal to yarn to finished project has always intrigued me. I guess I didn't realize that spinning could be portable and really inexpensive to start. I stopped in at a well-hidden LYS recently that specializes in spinning and weaving. I picked up a drop-spindle and fiber for less than $40! From left to right, my spinning has progressed significantly.
